Dr. Darrin Scott Friesen, MD

Dr.Friesen has been working with my son for about a year and a half. He’s been so great. Always on top of things and has even been available to us later in the evening for a phone call when there’s been a crisis. We feel very fortunate that he’s our sons psychiatrist.

We cannot say enough good things about Dr Friesen. He is the first Dr that we have been to for my son that actually listened to us and didn’t just go on his 30 minute observation. His staff is so caring and I feel they really want to help and show you that you are not alone. We have been seeing Dr Friesen for over 2 years and he is totally committed to helping my son. Cannot recommend him enough!

Dr. Friesen is a very bright doctor who truly cares about his clients. His office staff has always been prompt with getting back to us. My daughter is luck to have her as her psychiatrist.

He wants to give me more medicine and different medicine every time I visit him. I feel like I just keep taking more and hes not helping me.

This physician has made such a difference in our lives. He takes his time with each person and truly listens to each individual issue. He learns your child's behavior and personality and then is able to clarify the issues and recommend a treatment. He knowledgeably discusses the meds and treatment and gives you his rationale behind each. He started treating my child when he was in the 3rd grade and now my son is 21. My son is able to say, I'm too sad, life isn't worth living..... I need to talk with Dr. Friesen, again. We greatly appreciate this physician, and though it sounds like a cliche....we truly don't know what we would do without him.

Dr. Friesen is known among other mental health professionals in the area as the best child and adolescent psychiatrist in St. Louis. My children have been his patients for 9 years, and I could not give any mental health professional a higher recommendation. He is very calm, laid-back and easy to talk to. Kids absolutely love him. He will stand in your corner to fight for your kids' needs with their schools, as well. He is a kind, highly intelligent person to whom I will always be grateful for all he has done for our family.

Dr. Friesen is a very bright Washington University trained child and adolescent psychiatrist, but luckily for me, also treats adults with ADHD. He takes time with me, listens, picks up things I didn't recognize, actually does psychotherapy as well as managing my meds expertly. Besides being a skillful psychiatrist, he is just a nice guy. Only negative is his office does not file insurance for you; you pay and then file yourself with your insurance company. But that is more than outweighed by the quality of care I receive. Office staff is courteous and friendly.
