Dr. Darryl Jay Elzinga, MD

I went to the new location on Byron Center Ave. and had to wait 45 minutes past my appointment time. I found out they didn't have the proper equipment to complete my exam at this location and cost me a $50 copay. Dr. Elzinga was in a huge hurry because he was running late and didn't want to answer any questions. A CT scan was ordered and he wanted a follow up appointment at the Kenmoor Location. The office staff was of no help as I had to get my own test results one week later from Spectrum Health South. It seemed they didn't care. You have to leave a message and sometimes they may call back. A person with my history should never have to wait a week for test results when the office had them in two days . Never returning, and found a new ENT.

I saw Dr. Elzinga for a constant clear nasal drainage that had been going on for weeks. I was afraid it was something very serious, but he was very professional and not only ran the necessary test (and no extra ones - I knew which one was probably the one to run, as I was a lab technologist for years), but treated me with kindness when it turned out to be just a stupid allergy!

Disappointing experience. Sat in room 30 minutes past appt time. Dr walked in like no big deal. No explanation. Not friendly. No professional courtesy (i'm a local physician). Didn't really seem to care about my complaint/problem. I wasnt confident in his treatment plan. Very little eye contact or empathy. Took 1 month to get an appt with him.

Sadly, I cannot comment on him as a dr because I spent 1 hr and 20 mins in the waiting room past my appointment time and had to leave. The office staff did not offer any apology or explanation and it seamed from their response that this was normal at this office.

Very poor service, bed side manner, communication and abrupt.Bo answers to questions, never go back.
