Dr. David Harlan Ammons, MD

On January 19, 2013; Dr David Ammons and his team SAVED my life!! My iliac vein had spontaneously ruptured while I was at home with my family. I was brought into the Trauma room by ambulance and thank God the right people were working that night. I lost blood as fast as they were pumping it in. They told my family I might not survive surgery and to say their goodbyes. I was given a total of 14 units of blood. Dr Ammons repaired the vein.

I had this surgery several years ago, and the vein never collapsed like he said it would. I honestly think he did not do the surgery correctly and damaged the vein. The vein was tiny and after this surgery the vein now balloons up when on my feet creating a snake look and throbs terribly. Its worse during menstruation. My ankle stays swollen and now has developed Stasis dermatitis.

I feel I didn't get all the information about this procedure from him but he proceeded anyway. IMO, the surgery was unsuccessful as it began to burn half-way down the GSV, and due to his pausing I now have permanent "indentation" on my inner thigh which I find unsightly. I wish I had known the GSV is harvested for open heart surgery, since I might need it later in life--that wasn't mentioned. Further, I'm not a price shopper but asked what the cost would be and he billed and received from insurance 4X the quoted cost.

he is very nice and caring. he knew what was wrong with me right away and my legs feels 100% better now.

After 8 yrs of Dr.'s & many many tests, Dr. Ammons knew my problem in 2 min. Amazing Dr. would highly recommend.

Dr. Ammons is very kind and caring. He listens and answers questions. His staff is courteous and helpful, and the office has a welcoming atmosphere. I am grateful for his help with my vein issues.

Dr Ammons gave me incorrect information to direct my treatment and this information was proven incorrect by another doctor.
