Dr. David Avino, MD

My husband had an appointment with Dr. Avino 2 weeks ago. The doctor wanted him to take a stress test but the wait would have been long. So they gave him the first available appointment which was today at 12:30. We arrived at 12:15 and sat down to wait. Everyone in the waiting room was called and there we sat. At 1:00 my husband inquired whether we were close to getting called and they said soon. Finally at 1:30 we left as he didn’t get called yet. Why does the staff need to overbook appointments. Our time is just as valuable as the doctors time. I would definitely find another doctor cause Dr. Avino obviously is just overbooking for the money

My husband was very fortunate to have had a referral to Dr. David Avino because of having a burning in his chest. We went in for the appointment and the next day we were at Buffalo General for an angiogram. He needed open heart surgery and Dr. Avino would not let him leave the hospital for 5 days till the surgery could be scheduled. All went well and it is now a year later and we are very grateful for Dr. Avino's care and I highly recommend him for anyone needed a cardiologist. Also he takes his time and answers questions in a kind and understanding way.

I drive my 87 year old mother to her cardiologist appointment today. i really wasn't real keen on her going to begin with, but i drive her there, and let her go in alone. After over an hour i was wondering what was up and i put my mask on and went in, four people in the waiting room didn't have masks and the medical staff was all unmasked. IN A "Fing" DOCTORS OFFICE. I trusted these people with my 87 year old mother...

My loved one was treated by Dr Avino a few years back, for the duration of about a year and half. Initially we were happy with his service, despite the very long waits in the office and the clearly miserable and rude staff at the front desk. He seemed attentive and vested in the care. After about a year my loved one was still having the same issues that were initially reported when we sought out his care. It seemed as though Dr Avino lost interest in the case and his reason for noted cardiac symptoms were that my loved one needed to "lose weight and must be depressed." This became his answer for a few visits. Dr Avino no longer seemed vested in taking any further steps to treat, refer, address the severe cardiac symptoms that were going on. Needless to say we sought out the opinion of the Cleveland Clinic and within a matter of a few months my loved one was scheduled for open heart surgery. This surgery was life changing for my loved one, and turns out the issues that were… addressed were the nature of almost all of the cardiac issues that were being experienced. Its unfortunate that things turned out the way they did. Moral of the story - if you are seeking out basic cardiac care, maybe he's ok. If you are facing some serious health concerns - proceed at your own discretion. To this day I am disgusted at how things turned out with David Avino. Its a shame that his approach became so lackadaisical. I am sure if it was one of his loved ones experiencing these issues his answer wouldn't solely be weight loss and depression when the patient has stated several times, they were not feeling depressed.

I have been seeing Dr. Avino for many years now. I have to see him once a year and every visit I leave feeling completely satisfied with his care and advice. He is always considerate and makes sure my questions are answered. He goes over my tests completely and genuinely cares. I am so glad I have him in my life as my M.D. No complaints at all. A good man and physician.

Dr. Avino was courteous and knowledgeable. He asked me several questions and listened carefully to my responses. I felt he respected me both as a person and as his patient. He had the necessary tests completed and made the diagnosis in a timely manner. I would recommend him to family and friends "in a heartbeat." : )

Has served my patients and myself as a cardiologist for past 15 years. He is outstanding. He is most up to date and uses excellent sub-specialists whenever indicated or when patient requests such.

I have been having a lot of heart problems and other complication. I was referred to this Dr. On my last visit with this so called doctor he would not answer my questions and then told me there was nothing more he could do for me. The nurse I spoke with before he came into the room listened to what I told her was going on and said that the Dr. would probably change my dosage of meds. Well guess what he said, he wasn't changing anything and there was nothing more he could do for me, and promptly left the room. I will never return to him, and never ever suggest him for a Dr. to anyone.

This doctor has all the abilities, compassion and sense of responsibility one could ask for in a physician. I have known him for 12 years as a patient and colleague.
