Dr. David Robert Baldinger, MD

I was referred to this doctor by another doctor in the same group - you would think that all the blood work could be accessed instead of me having to pay hundreds of dollars to run the same tests. I’m pretty up to date on technology and can read, in the follow up appointment all he did was read my blood work back to me (I’d already read it myself two weeks prior) and didn’t offer any incite as to why I’m in pain. Just shrugged and said I need to wait and see and he didn’t know where to refer me to next. Great thanks for nothing. Don’t even get me started on the wait in that office. It’s hours. They didn’t even call me when my blood work came in, I had to call an make an appointment.

My experience with Dr Baldinger have been great. He is cut and dry and thats ok with me. He has treated my RA for a number of years and doesn't disregard my pains. I want a doctor who tells you the truth and explains them in lay mans terms. I have a lot of respect for him and also refer my friends to him.

I have been seeing Dr Baldinger for about 7 years. He monitors my condition with regular blood work and I feel confident in what he is recommending as a course of treatment. I find him easy to talk to and feel that he is listening to what I say. A very nice man and a very good doctor.

My first appointment with him he came in wearing a mask over his nose and mouth. He never touched me or looked at my joints hardly at all. He never said why he had the mask on. But I never saw his whole face. It felt like a barrier not very personal. My previous rheumatologist in Nashville was excellent. He had a personality and was a good Dr. that also acted caring. So I do have a good Dr. to compare to that I saw for many years. I went to a second appointment with him. I decided I would give him a second chance. Still not impressed at all! But at least this time he didn't have the mask on. But that may be because I did the patient evaluation after the first appointment. I will look for a new Dr. But my advice don't go to him.

Diagnosis spot on, but he doesnt communicate, diesnt answer questions.

I should have read review on this doctor before I went to appointment. From the moment this doctor walked in, you could tell he was annoyed. No introduction, no handshake, no hello how are you. Spent less that 8 minutes with me. I had already tested positive for an autoimmune disease. However, when telling him my symptoms, he basically told me to see a dermatologist and that I didn't have an autoimmune. I could go on, but not worth the time. Find another doctor!

He walked into the room and without introducing himself started telling me how frustrated he was that I was there--he doesn't see people with hives and my doctor should not have referred me. He went into quite the speech about what constitutes and autoimmune disease and what doesn't and told me to go to the allergist. Finally my mother asked him to explain my latest lab results. Once he did that he decided to examine me. He interviewed me and we discussed my many strange symptoms. He told me to go to a neurologist, allergist and dermatologist--wanted a biopsy of the hives. He ordered several blood tests (Found out later that he didn't give me an order for many of the tests he listed in his office notes). I had an adverse reaction to the pain medication he prescribed and he sent me to the ER. I saw all the experts he wanted me to see and did all the tests he wanted done. He cancelled my follow-up appointment before the biopsy came back, refused to talk to or see me and his nurse told… me there was nothing clinically wrong with me and to "go home now...leave" when I showed up for my appointment anyway--seeking some help or some explanation. I stood in the waiting room covered head to toe in a full flare up of hives and angioedema with joints so swollen it was hard to walk and she told me there was nothing wrong with me! She said he would not see me anymore. The office manager wouldn't even talk to me. I was completely abandoned. I asked what I had done wrong and she just said to leave the office. Now I have to wait another 3 months to get into another rheumatologist. Oh, and all the other specialists said I needed to follow-up with the rheumatologist and the biopsy he ordered eventually showed that I have something autoimmune. Now I have to see a hematology oncologist too because it looks like I may have a blood cancer also. Unbelievable.

I was a new patient, when Dr. Baldinger came in, he didn't introduce himself or make any eye contact with me. During exam, his cell phone went off and he didn't silence it or apologize for it going off. He seemed more interested in typing on his computer than addressing my concerns. I came for a second opinion, but it was a mistake. Would not recommend or will I return.

He never introduced himself when he walked in the room. He didn't perform an exam on me of any kind. When I told him my fingers were swollen he said "look fine to me" (this was on our first visit, how would he know?) I waited 2hrs in the office to see him. I timed our appt and it was less than 60sec from when he walked into the room to walking out. He lost my TB test results and showed no concern. He asked me what my previous blood work results were from 6mo ago claiming "I guess I could pull your chart to look but I didn't" (You couldn't even pull my chart for our appt?! How do you know who I am and what my condition is?) All of the negative reviews I'm reading on him are correct. I also thought the office staff were very friendly and easy to get along with, however they are not good with calling you back on questions or faxing information / forms / or medical history to anyone for any reason, no matter the emergency. I don't need the dr. to be perfect or have the perfect bedside… manners, but I do need respect and to be treated like a human being. It is worth your time and hassle to switch, please take this warning, do NOT waste your money, time, and stress on this Dr. I wish I had read these reviews before I chose him. There are too many negative reviews here for us all to be that crazy demanding hard-to-please patient. Listen to these reviews, they are very accurate.

The first time my we met him he asked what the problem is. When he came in never introduced himself, no handshake. I told him what I had been told by 2 other doctors and his response was "why was I there". He did NOT do an exam on me, he just took the information I said and went on that. He would give me a script for very expensive drugs and never would give me any samples. I saw him 2nd time, I asked if he could look in my ear and his response as he is walking out the door was "I'm too busy, go to the clinic". The last time I saw him I waited 1 hour. 1 person in the waiting room, they called her and I had to wait 1 hour. He very rudly told me that there was nothing he could do for me, he did not know what to tell me other then follow up with my pain management dr. He then responded, I am not thowing you out of the office but...and I said "yes you are doing that" He has NO bedside manner at all!! Just a NO CARE ATTITUDE and looks at you and talks down to you like you are a… piece of rotten dirt. I would NEVER refer him to anyone. He should have his license pulled!!
