Dr. David Kyle Ball, MD

Dr. David K Ball was my doctor for a number of years after his father, Dr. George Ball retired. I always found him to be an excellent caring doctor! I never did have an occasion when he was lacking. I wish he was still practicing in the clinic where I last visited him. Since he is not, I have had to find another gynecologist. My prayer is that this one will be as kind and caring as "Dr. Kyle". I have never seen a doctor with less compassion in my entire life- Bedside manner deserves NEGATIVE stars. I am sad I have to leave him even one here. Talks down to women in labor and threatens them with a cesarean section if they cry or curse while laboring down. UMMC should be ashamed to have this guy on board training residents outdated techniques. I don't think he has read an ACOG practice bulletin in decades. Check out his experience- SEC Football and looks like he makes his side money as a Subject Matter Expert for all the local attorneys! Guess he can't make enough money as a doctor. If you want an unnecessary cesarean section, severe tear, or episiotomy that takes you weeks, months, or even years more to recover from, he's your guy! A disgrace to OB-GYN's everywhere.

Ball is a former football player, and he behaves as one in the labor and delivery room. He should not be allowed to practice medicine. Shame on UMMC that claims to be baby friendly because this guy sure as h.. isn't mother friendly.

After not having a consistent OBGYN for a while. I was transferred to Dr. Ball. Our first visit was very unpleasant. He had no chart, he constantly asked if we’ve met before. He told my husband that I was high-risk which freaked him out...not to mention I’m not high risk at all. Luckily this is my second pregnancy so I kinda know what to expect. To add insult to injury, he would ask if you have any questions while he’s already heading out of the door, which can make a person very anxious, especially a pregnant mom or dad. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I’m 7 months pregnant and have been seeing Dr. Ball my entire pregnancy. Last visit and this visit he asked if we had ever met. He doesn’t bring my chart into the room, just a piece of paper with a few notes jotted down on it. Not only is he not compassionate, he lacks competency. I had to remind him about my blood test, my glucose test, etc.. all which I researched and got information from on my apps.

The most awful doctor's visit I have ever had and very disappointing since this was my first maternity appointment. First, I had never met him and he did not even introduce himself and the only reason I knew he was not some sex offender performing Pap smears is because he had a UMMC badge on and his nurse seemed to know him. Second, he thought I was a different patient and he wouldn't have lnown any differently if I had not mentioned how far along I was. He even said oh you are not Miss Bolton. Thirdly, ne prescribed me a pill for hypertension that is not used any more, don't worry I didn't take it. Ordered a sonogram at the wrong time, didn't order all the labs he should have, etc etc. I wish I had kicked him in the throat.

Dr. Ball is an awesome doctor and I would recommend his services to any female in need of a obgyn.

He performed surgery on me. He botched my surgery and would never admit it.
