Dr. Barei did the surgery folloeing an accident in which I was hit ny a car as a pedestrian. He did a complex surgery involving my femur and knee, with wonderful results and great follow-up care. I felt I had been given the highest possible care and speciality treatment, having been transferred from another hospital that found the injury too complex for their work. Dr. Barei met with me and my family before the surgery and made me feel very calm and hopeful, and it really added to the level of care I received.

I flipped a ladder out from under me and came down left knee landing directly on asphalt. Shattered the knee. Local Dr stated they could put it back together, I would limp around for a few years and then get a total Knee replacement. I decided to transfer to Harborview and was assigned Dr Barei. It has now been 8 years, I am currently 68 years old. My knee has been trouble and pain free for the last 8 years. I walk 3 miles a day, I do dog agility, I do mountain hikes up to 10 miles. I feel very lucky to have been assigned Dr. Barei and receive the magic he preforms.

Dr Barei has been the best surgeon for me. Along with 2 other Dr's(Thomas Large, Greg Blaisdell) As a team put me back together. He really does treat you like family. There are youtube videos, and articles that he has written to allow you to see how amazing he is, and how seriously he takes his work. I am forever grateful to HMC, and this dr. for what a difference he has made in my life with how well I have recovered from this trauma.

Dr.David Barei was a very good doctor to work with. In our emergency surgery type of situation is was very reassuring to see the confidence he had in himself & it made me feel very comfortable with the whole situation. He had a very caring heart to help out in anyway with rehabilitating his leg. Would 100% refer friends & family to Dr.Barei

Dr. Barai was the head of an Orthopedic team that treated me following a head on collision. He is an innovative physician, very busy but caring. He is from Canada, so is used to the socialized medicine practice of the teaching hospital environment. Great surgeon.
