Dr. David Lee Porter Baswell, MD

We are a military family and move every 1-3 years, so we've seen A LOT of pediatricians over the years, and Dr. Baswell, hands down, is the best. From his bedside manner to the amount of time he spends with you really listening to your concerns, he just rocks. When we adopted our youngest daughter, he came to the hospital every day to check on her. Dr. Baswell is INCREDIBLE with children; putting them at ease and explaining things to them before even touching them. He makes them laugh with jokes, and puts them at ease. The nurses are all AWESOME and caring. The office staff is AMAZING; handling insurance and adoption issues with ease. They ALWAYS work us in for same-day sick visits and treat us with respect. I cannot say enough good things about this practice.

I do not enjoy writing a negative review for someone. But in this case, I must. Dr. Baswell is a run of the mill pediatrician. I had no reason to complain of his work with my children until one of my children was diagnosed with something serious. My youngest has kidney disease. Dr. Baswell diagnosed her (correctly), but unfortunately, the care stopped there. He didn't treat her condition correctly, flat out dropped the ball on treating her some months later which landed us in the ER, and finally another doctor in his practice just wouldn't do anything to help us late on a Friday night when I suspected my daughter's condition was getting worse. Three strikes and you're out, they say. I fired him after that last offence. If you have healthy kids, he's great. If your kids truly need medical attention more than a cold or flu, find someone else.
