Horrible service, over prices I will never go here again.

The staff at Berman Skin Institute is great. The staff is always friendly and treats me like family. I come in twice a year and the assistants and office manager always say hi. I have been a patient for 8 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Dr. Berman is great, I would recommend him and his staff to everyone.

Had the Artas 3000 follicle FUE procedure a few years ago, so I've had time to see the results. Spoke to 2 other Artas doctors who advised me not to have 3000 harvested in one session and implanted over 2 days because, according to them, a significant % of the hair follicles would not survive. They were right. I paid 19k and the back of my head looks like there's a hole in it. The follicles NEVER really grew in! Still need to use toppik. The front looks good, since it was done the same day the follicles were harvested. I was waiting months and months and months for the back scalp to grow in and it never substantially did. Berman showed me before and after photos of someone he claimed did the 3000 but returned to have the back scalp area redone to add more follicles. I should have paid attention to that remark. I feel I would have been better off having all 3000 in one day. It's no bargain to have 3000 done if the 2nd day's results look so sparse. I do believe in Artas, but not… the method Berman used. The reason may be that Artas charges the doctor as pay per use (per harvest attempt). Why use the machine twice when once is cheaper, even though the patient suffers the consequences? The follicle viability on the 2nd day was less for me. I'd be careful trusting this guy. Buyer beware.

I received five Botox injections from doctor Berman. I came in regularly about three to four months for treating my forehead and around my eyes lines. He randomly injected my face differently every time, and hence I wasn’t getting the same results from every visit. I’m not sure if amount injected is what I actually paid for, or is it that doctor Berman isn’t injecting the right amount for every location? All I know is that I DO NOT TRUST HIM. Also, he made tense as he was snapping at his assistants. Very disrespectful to his team!

Horrible experience. I wouldn't go back there if you paid me. Dr. Berman was arrogant and short, and rude to the staff who seemed afraid of him. I was unhappy with the procedure itself, but have since had it fixed by another Dr.

Do NOT waste your money with this doctor! I spent $11,000 on liposuction and exactly one year later, not only can you not tell the difference, but I am actually heavier than I was and my legs are badly rippled where the fat was suctioned out. The incision scars, which I was told would be not noticeable at all, are awful and stand out like a sore thumb. I went to Dr. Berman to get rid of the fat in those areas that are genetically predisposed to be there. He assured me that liposuction would take away these areas of fat and they would not return. Well, they did return! I went back several times in the first several months, and even later, to ask about my legs being so misshapen and rippled and I totally got the brush off each time. One time, I didn't even see Dr. Berman-he was too busy apparently-but I did see one of his colleagues and I expressed my concerns about the results to her. She assured me that at the Berman Skin Institute, they will "make it right" but that I should do as Dr.… Berman said and wait until the year was over because the problems I was seeing might be due to "swelling" that might take awhile to go down. So I patiently waited for the year to elapse and went back for my appointment today. What a joke! As with every time previous that I had gone to see this doctor, he came into the room and immediately started talking about the house he was building and what problems he was having with it. Today, he was talking about his worries about the wine cellar and how he's not sure how he's going to figure out how to keep it temperature controlled, etc... Ah, to have such problems! This is one arrogant and pretentious man. He had the audacity to tell me that the rippling that was going on on my legs "nobody would notice" anyway and brushed it away like it was no big deal. To his credit, I will say that he offered (a year later) to "fix" the problem for me, in an outpatient visit that would only use topical anesthesia and I could drive myself back home (almost 50 miles) after the half hour he said it would take to suction out more of the fat where the ripples are bulging to try and even out my legs. After waiting out this painful and expensive procedure for a year now and getting no satisfying results, there is no way I'm going to let this guy "fix" the problems that he made in the first place. He actually told me "well, it is what it is" as if that would satisfy my insecurities, worries and concern. Well, that's the whole point of plastic surgery-to make something different than what it is. Run-do not walk-fast and far away from this doctor and his insensitive and ineffective procedures.

I asked Dr. Berman about liposuction for a small fat pad under my chin- but was rushed into a "deal"-liposuction on my upper and lower abdomen. He said- "Oh, we can get you in right away" since I told him I was leaving for a trip to Mexico in 1 week. "You will be fine in 4 days, in fact I can do your thigh and hip liposuction when you come in for 4 day post-op check up". I, being in the medical field myself though -isn't that too soon to fly just 3 days later? "No" he says, you'll be fine!!!" Well I was not FINE!!!- I had so much pain in my abdomen for 7 weeks now, am taking Neurontin to try to relieve at least a little bit of the nerve pain. When I returned to see Dr.Berman( he should have his license revoked), he said he had never had a patient with pain before- "it will go away" he said several times- VERY RUDE< CONDESCENDING AND ARROGANT, not to mention incompetent!!! He took more than the legal limit of fat out- I am going to report him to the STATE OF CALIFORNIA MEDICAL… BOARD- I want to warn everybody- DO NOT EVER GO TO DR BERMAN FOR ANYTHING--- HE IS HORRID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He refused to offer me any help when I repeated myself many times- just kept saying it will go away- I could not even work the pain is so bad- he could care less-would not help. After he gets his" precious dollars" his patient is nothing!!! STAY AWAY!!!!You can actually get an appointment fairly easily because they are like cattle herders.
