Dr. David Alan Bernstein, MD

A very good Dr. He replaced Dr. Mazer who retired and then I went to the diagnostic clinic, (which my wife refer me to) who couldn't do anything but refer me to specialists. Dr Bernstein is an outspoken Doctor in his field with his knowledge that equal to specialists. An excellent Dr. I strongly recommend Dr. Bernstein.

When the kettle calls the pot black, it is time to move on and find a PROFESSIONAL doctor that has decorum when talking to their patients. He was about 40 pounds overweight also, maybe more, yet the put downs about me were rampant! I also 'went on' to find a Dr that talks to you, at length, when you are fully dressed. Not making a patient sit in the table for 30 minutes at least, facing him, with front of gown gaping open while enduring his one sided convo. He never once heard me say my I was lucky to afford TV dinners and milk and cereal. I didnt have the option to shop for fruit and vegetables like a normal person can do. But still sitting there with gown open, his preaching continued about being overweight. Then after all my awkward time there, I never did receive a physical exam. I really wanted to tell him he needed to lose 40 or more pounds himself but i was polite and just left the office.

Like having friendly doctor

Dr Bernstein just DOES NOT LISTEN. He seems to jump to a pre-conceived diagnosis and is rude when that diagnosis is questioned. In my case, the medicine was not working but he continued to increase the dose and chastised me for asking questions. JUST PLAIN RUDE. Eventually i found another doctor who did listen, came up with a proper diagnosis and the problem was corrected with a simple procedure. Altho that problem was corrected - unfortunately by the time this happened, the medicines that Dr Bernstein insisted would work if i was " patient" had caused degeneration of tendons, which then ruptured leaving me barely able to walk. He spent time with time with me, but it was mostly spent bragging about himself and a book he had written. He should have written less and read more.

This MD is only interested in the money he makes from herding you in to his office like cattle. His staff were rude and deceived me into thinking that my insurance would cover the visit. One month later I found out that this MD charged me over $400.00 for a routine visit and I was stuck paying the bill. When I called to find out why his very rude office staff manager started screaming at me and told me it was my fault! When I tried to communicate to the MD about this he ignored my fax and the letter I wrote him.And besides all the frustration I experienced he did not help me medically at all!Bottom line is he does not care about you. Find an MD that will.

Dr seems interested in getting the patient out only focusing on one issue and is not able to combine other issues during the same visit. When you go to the visit with several issues you leave with the feeling that nothing was really accomplished.

I definitely felt like Dr. Bernstein doesn't have a very good grasp on medical care. I finally went to see another doctor and was diagnosed properly. I wouldn't recommend him. He mainly is an MD stuck in the Prescription drug cycle...write a script for drugs from companies courting him. It was disappointing. He is a likeable person, but that doesn't make a doctor competent.
