Dr. David George Binion, MD

Five years ago I became very sick and was consulted and treated by many great physicians. Despite all the efforts I was getting worse: lost third of my weight, became malnourished, fatigued, discouraged and had to stop working. Three weeks ago I flew from Sacramento to Pittsburg for an appointment with Dr. Binion. This meeting brought a ray of sunshine in my life. Dr. Binion’s professional excellence, investigative mind, attention to details and ability to connect are unprecedented. He spent over two hours listening to me and sharing his vast medical knowledge of the reasons why conventional medicine was mostly unsuccessful with my gastrointestinal symptoms. I was able to gain a deeper understanding of my condition and introduced to the available treatments. Now I feel very hopeful and encouraged. Besides being introduced to the unique research information I was treated by Dr. Binion as an equal. He talked to me without diluting scientific information to simplify it. He also called me… by my title not only while talking to me but also when giving directions regarding tests and prescriptions for me to his staff. He is absolutely incredible as a Doctor and as a person! I am extremely honored to be treated by Doctor Binion. In his an Award Speech for the Sherman Prize in 2018 Dr. Binion used a powerful phrase, “Never give up” (by Winston Churchill) which now helps me every day in my journey to get better. Eileen and Cindy, his two RN’s are beyond amazing as well in everything - listening, delivering the information, follow up and providing tremendous emotional support. Dr. Binion, is an ABSOLUTE God to me. I have crohn's disease and had a bowel blockage which my previous doctor denied that I had. I had lost 40 lbs and was left untreated. When I found Dr. Binion with one phone call he took me immediately in the hospital had a tpn put me for nourishment and proceeded with bile resection and hernia repair! He is definitely the most compassionate, caring person I have ever met in the medical field. He truly made me feel that he was fighting for his own life while saving mine! I travel 4 hours across the state of PA to see this amazing GOD like dr . I could not put into words what he has done for me . When I wanted to give up he gives me hope that I will get better and feel better . He always has knowledge of medications of all different categories and I was given so many more options then any other ft I ever saw . He doesn't give up trying to help me and that's why I will always go to him even if I have to travel 20 hours I would !

I never met anyone as kind as David Binon. Really, he saved my life more then nce. We miss you!

World class doctor treaded me for Cdiff & UC... If you have these problems you need to go and see him, he has had a positive profound impact on my life. I couldn't be more thankful for. If i ever left the Pittsburgh area I would with out a doubt fly back for treatment and care from him, Simply a world class doctor I would have a problems believing there is a better UC doctor in the world.

I have suffered from Crohns dis. for over 20 years and have moved 16 times in our career giving me a great inside look at some of the most renown hospitals and Dr.s in thei country and Canada and NONE can nearly match Dr. Binion. I have felt better under his care and am so sad to know that I will be losing him now.
