Dr. David John Boarini, MD

Done surgery for chari malformation and left a shunt in my brain and has left me with many life long problems. Night terrors dizziness no control over parts of my body. He needs to give it up.

He performed a laminectomy on my wife, and we were told by him that she would be back to normal in 5 to 8 weeks. We were also told by him that she would only spend one night in the hospital after surgery. Well, he screwed something up, and my wife was placed in Younkers rehab for about 3 months because she couldn't walk or do any activity by herself. Until now, she cannot use the left side of her body. We had a follow up visit a year later with Dr Boarini and I asked him what happened to being back to normal in 5 to 8 weeks? He snapped and started shouting at us yelling that this is a very risky surgery and it would take more than a year to get back to normal. I didn't want to argue, so we just left his office and never went back. Got a visit to UIHC and was told her condition was caused by permanent bruising in the spine where surgery was performed, but they would not say what caused it. I asked if it was the surgery, and they refused to answer...but didn't say no.

My son was injured in 2014 and he head injury was over looked for weeks, Dr Boarini met us late evening in the ER and did surgery the next morning to stop a brain bleed, and needed to take him back into surgery 2 more times that day and treated us with compassion and care the whole way thru this and even stayed at his bedside in post op until he knew he was doing fine.

Dr Boarini performed back surgery on me in 2004. I stopped taking pain meds 2nd day as I was not in pain. To this day I am pain free and have a full range of motion. Talented surgeon who uses plain direct talk. I appreciated that about him.

In May of 2016 Dr. Boarini did spine extensive surgery (L-2-S1) on me. He did an excellent job on the surgery, however he perscribed 7.5 mg. of Hydrocodine for me every four hours and left me on it for a month. I became addicted to it and ended up back in the hospital for five days in withdrawal. It was horrible and expensive for me. At a one month appointment, he told me he was my pain doctor. Do not let him be your pain doctor!!!!

Suffered a frontal lobe brain aneurysm. Living today because of Dr. Boarini
