Dr. David Earl Brasel, MD

David Brasel, MD is the current medical director of the NICU at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota Minneapolis. He has been a staff neonatologist at Children's for 31 years. His medical training, pediatric residency and neonatal fellowship were at the University of Minnesota. Prior to the directorship of the NICU, he focused on the care of infants with chronic health issues and technology dependent infants who required prolonged hospitalization and was the medical director of the ICC. Dr Brasel was also involved with bringing NRP to Minnesota as a regional instructor and he remains involved with the program. Currently he is caring for those infants who are critically ill at birth or soon after birth with prematurity, congenital anomalies, infections or perinatal compromise.
