Dr. David Butler, MD

Have ear infection that spread to mastoid. After five visits to two doctors , I was not put in anti-biotics until I requested them.....only given Cipro ear drops. Under the care of a new physician, He wanted my ear completely dry ( said I had fungus on my wet eardrum), immediately cultured the fluid that was coming out of my ear, suction a copious amount of fluid from my middle ear, said my eardrum was , in his words, "Fire Engine Red". Now on 1000mg/daily of Cipro for 10 days and slowly healing. Hearing test yesterday at Pacific Ear and Eye indicates hearing loss which may reverse, tinnitus, and dizziness which has kept me out of work and unable to drive, for two weeks. As a teacher, I'm missing the end of the school year. Just left this practice after 40 years with two other physicians that have retired who were very proactice and thorough. Called in after hours to say I was very sick and had fluid coming out and was told "With your history of allergies, it could be that". The… next day I had an MRI ( suggested by a different Dr.) and it showed the Mastoiditis ! This could've most likely be resolved had I been treated with oral anti-biotics earlier. Very disappointed.

Really- 45 minutes and still waiting

I had a rhinoplasty due to deformity in the cartilage. While doing the procedure Dr. Buttler also extracted fat from my abdomen and injected it beneath my eyes which need some fill due to age. Upon waking from over 5 hours of surgery I was left with a lumpy uneven mess under my eyes. It was obvious that he did not spend time evenly distributing the fat. It was far worse than not having anything done at all. The nose shape was improved but the nasal passages which was my main concern due to heart issues and being a mouth breather were worse than before the surgery. In both nostrils on the outside there were & are flaps of cartilage which I never had before. Since the surgery I have had repeated nasal infections requiring antibiotics and nasal salves. Also, I was quoted a price for the surgery and was told the office would bill my insurance much more because the insurance companies reduce the payment substantially. But, if they paid more than expected they would refund some of the… money I paid up front in co-pay. I was quoted $13,175.00. I paid $5,900.00 up front and they collected over $25,454.03 from my insurance company. After all this, I liked Dr. Buttler so I referred him two other patients who both had corrective surgery. One of them had nerve damage and many months of misery! My issue is his office in conveying messages. I was fed up because they made no effort to stand behind their work or should I say Dr. Buttler's work. It is three years now and the fat under the eyes is finally softening a bit but I paid thousands for a horrible job that I would never had done if I knew what Dr. Buttler would leave me with! I have looked horrible for three years! Dr. Buttler made no effort to remedy this or my obstructed breathing issues. I became more demanding and Dr. Buttler sent me a letter saying he would no longer see me! The gaul that he would do this and not stand behind his work and causing nerve damage to my friend and doing nothing to remedy the situations is extremely poor business practice and shows he doesn't care after the fact. I regretfully write this but it is true.

Dr. Butler is all about money. He seems to be very stressed, runs late, and does not apologize for it. I used to see him fairly regularly but have stopped seeing him due to difficulty in getting appointments and his repeated tardiness. I have found another doctor which is much more responsive, more personable, and less expensive.
