Dr. David Harry Cahan, MD

Dr. Cahan cared for my mother for several years when she had declining kidney function. He took a moderate approach to treating her condition which was appropriate for her age and health condition and I truly believe his care extended her life span. He was always available to return a phone call, ease any concerns my mother or I had and never made us feel that our worries were not important. He is a caring, kind doctor and I would recommend him highly.

I was sent to Dr Cahan for an independent evaluation related to disability. I have not received my results yet, so I can't address accuracy of diagnosis, but I am shocked by these other reviews. The office was clean. Dr Cahan greeted me as soon as I arrived for my appointment and let me know he would see me in a few minutes. (I was early.) He did the same for the gentleman who arrived after me. During the exam he listened to me and seemed to be interested in my condition. He pleasantly shared some anecdotes and even walked out to the hallway with me afterwards to show me how to get to radiology. I don't have the results of the exam yet. But I found him to be a very nice man.

Arrogant; doesn't listen. Thinks he knows the problem and answer before you even explain yourself and your situation. Relies on technique alone rather than intuition and wisdom -- avoid this creep like the plague. He's a robot.

Talked on phone a full 7 minutes with his accountant during my visit. Arrogant.Incompetent.Bedside manner of Dracula.Ordered CT scans for low sodium. Totally uncalled for and cost was nearly $8,000. Sodium was normal a few weeks later.This doctor is one of the reasons our healthcare system is second rate and most expensive in the world. His office is filthy. He said he had been in the same place for 30 years. I'll vouch for 30 years worth of dirt in there. His waiting room rug looks like he parks an old truck on it at night - full of greasy spots. EWWWW.. It reminded me of the Bates Hotel in Psycho - dark, dusty and dingy. I'm not being funny. Nothing about this jerk is funny. Oh, and, be advised, his receptionist leaves at 3pm. Don't be alone with him. He's creepy. I had a 4pm appointment - set up by him personally. Yeah, he actually called be at home, after my primary care doctor made the referral. I'm glad I took my husband with me to my appointment. Don't be alone with him. He's… creepy. Better yet, find another doctor.

My experience (one appointment)with Dr. Cahan was terrible. He has the bedside manner of Dracula and he took a 10 minute call from his accountant during my appointment. Moreover, his office is dirty. The rug in his waiting room looks like he parks an old truck on it at night. It is black with oil spots and filth. Ewwww! The chairs are also dirty, and a half inch of dust has collected on the baseboard. He said he has been in the same office for 30 years. Apparently, it hasn't been cleaned since then. It reminded me of the Bates Motel in Psycho. My instincts told me to run from there before seeing him. I wish I had.
