Dr. David Neil Calkins, MD

He doesn't have licenses for Florida or New York, yet he operates a nationwide telehealth company. He ordered blood tests and medications for my brother without ever speaking to him, which led to serious health problems. His admin, Mr. Matt, says he's always busy.

I sustained an injury during RFA surgery with Dr Calkins, contracted an infection at the surgery site and ended up with a 14 mm abscess on my spine. Dr Calkins’ staff told me I wasn’t stretching enough and that heat was used in the procedure and that could be the cause of the fever I started having within 24 hours of surgery. I ended up on antibiotics for months, could not stand on my own, and am still doing physical therapy more than 3 years later. Dr Calkins, Sunrise Medical and the Santa Rosa hospital all dismissed their bills but would not help with my aftercare or take responsibility. Calkins blamed my being so sick on a throat infection and made a big show in front of his staff of looking in my mouth, but would not examine the surgical site in front of anyone else or allow them to do it when nurses asked. I have often wondered how many people have been harmed since my life changed with the bad decision to pursue this treatment with Calkins.

My husband suffers from Guillain-Barre Syndrome and has daily dreadful pain. It is difficult to have a full and meaningful life living with chronic, devasting pain. We went to see Dr. Calkin and he underwent his procedure. Amazing. My husband walked out feeling so much better, the pain was gone - GONE. He was a happier person and able to do projects he hadn't done in years. He is reducing his pain meds and life is getting good again. God Bless Dr. Calkin.

I was a patient of Dr. Calkins in 2009 and was extremely satisfied with his treatment. I am in need of my medical records, does anyone know how to retrieve them?

I appreciate what he has done for me and my family. I was very happy to find him. I read the other peoples reviews and disagree with many of them. I have been given other diagnoses, by other Dr's. but after all of their treatments, I wasn't much better. Dr Calkins asked me to wait and see if his diagnoses was correct. We could judge by whether or not I got relief from my pain, with his treatments. I did get relief and this has given faith in his diagnoses. After meeting with him, I went home and spoke to my friend and told her about our meeting. She had been treated by him and was very happy with the result. Her husband was also a patient and he said he was also happy to have been treated by him. I asked them why they didn't put a review on the internet.

On my first visit I waited over 3 hours for a pill sheet from the hospital I was released from for him to make a complete diagnosis on my pain without reviewing any other medical records in my case.On my last visit I brought a complete set of records in which he choose not to review.His manner was "totally unprofessional",degrading,unethical, and rude.Since going to a different pain management who took the time to read my records I am living pain free!

The receptionist was the only nice & professional person on the staff. Dr. Calkins and his medical assistant are extremely rude and non professional. The office is way in the middle of nowhere. I would never recomend this Dr. and his office to anyone.

Very thorough, caring. Listened to my problem. Offered suggestions & developed plan together. I was amazed at my improvement; after seeing so many other doctors, Dr. Calkins actually HELPED ME!

doctor said for over a year chronic severe pain in knees said pain was caused by lower back problems but an orthopedic doctor says there is severe degenerative arthritis in knees and says needs knee replacement. Also, doctor Calkin says for over a year severe chronic pain in shoulder is caused by a failed neck syndrome but orthopedic doctors says shoulder's MRI shows the shoulder has a severe torn rotater cuff and needs immediate surgery.

Dr. Calkins is a very special Dr. he goes out of his way to make sure that you understand what treatment you need and why you need it. He spent 30 minutes with me today just discussing my concerns over a procedure that I misunderstood. At no time did he pressure me to make a decision, he gave me all of the facts and information and asked that I let him know how I would like to proceed. There are not many Dr's that would take the time that Dr. Calkins did to make sure that I understood all of my options.
