Dr. David L Caraway, MD

Dr. Carroway successfully injected my back where I have foraminal stenosis caused by a military impact and subsequent fracture. So what I have now are residuals. When I called to make another appointment they told me since it had been a year since I last saw him I would have to first see their psychiatrist and then proceed to an appointment after successfully getting through the shrink. I said, I am already his patient, I don't want drugs, I don't want a major (and unnecessary Psych evaluation) I just wanted an appointment for evaluation for another epidural. He had already given me three and had the medical necessity documentation from other neural specialists. Too bad they say. Shrink visit or no doctor. I tried logic, I tried anger, I tried everything to convince them I didn't need that kind of treatment and definitely didn't want any drugs. This is arrogance to the nth degree. Unless you want to be completely dragged through unnecessary visits don't go here. Evaluation -… Courteous staff: Techs, Nurses and Dr. care is excellent if you can get through his gestapo appointment staff. Evaluation - There is no follow up after the epidural unless you need it.

Dr. Caraway is a very knowledge doctor and was very willing to try a variety of meds in my pain pump, which was implanted almost a year ago. The operations of his office staff is quite poor, however, and the lack of communication of what my needs are astounds me. I will not leave his care but I have to always stay on top of what is going on. Most of the nurses are excellent, but again, I have to be my own advocate and fight for what I need to have. It can be very frustrating. If someone is not knowledgeable and on top of things, you will not get the care you need.

I came to Dr. Caraway with crippling pain related to severe nerve damage to my S1 Nerve Root. Injections, drugs, nothing could help.I wanted to keep working, be mobile and have as little modification to my daily life. He has kept me on a low dose opiate, Lyrica and installed a Neuro Stimulator. Recently I herniated another disc, Medtronic came into the office and adjusted my settings to bring more relief than any pill had brought!He is a bit tough to see, but frankly its the # of Patients who seek him out from a Tri State area.He has saved my life, what more can I say!

DR. CARAWAY IS BRILLIANT. HIS WORK IS EXCEPTIONAL AND HE IS A WELL GROOMED YOUNG MAN. HIS TRAINING UNDER HIS MENTOR DR. DEER HAS REALLY SHOWN THROUGH. HE IS THE BEST DR. IN HUNTINGTON. I AM PROUD TO BE HIS PATIENT.
