Dr. David Udell Caster, MD

I would say Dr. Caster is mainly focused on prescribing drugs with little or no concern about teaching coping skills, referring clients out to community resources or encouraging education and support groups. He fosters dependence on him through prescribed drugs and appointments which would/could go on for years. I strongly suggest people to look at the majority of the post here and elsewhere regarding this doctor.

I made left several messages to try and schedule a follow-up appointment and never got an appointment made. The woman who answered only one time said she would call me back the following day to schedule and appointment - she never called back. This is not a reliable medical practice, but rather one that appears to be functioning part-time at best

I have been seeing Dr. Caster for at least 10 years and I have to say that he truly brought me from the brink and continues to stabilize my condition with knowledge and care. I had an emergency, called him and he was on call. He got back to me in 15 minutes and resolved the issue calmly and quickly. Sharon, his secretary, handles all my refills and new prescriptions in a timely manner. When I am talking to him he never hurries me and always listens to my concerns. He is excellent in his diagnosis and medication needs. I don't think there is a more caring psychiatrist in Colorado Springs.

I have never seen a doctor's office like this one----I have tried to help a family member get help--needed to get a guardianship done---really emergency---could not get no one in his office to help me so I could help my family member get more help! All I can say----I am praying that this office close down soon---this is dangerous for anyone having a mental health issue---stay away!

I really trust Dr. Castor. I have been seeing him for over 2 years now and he has really been great. He is easy to talk to, very good at explaining things, very honest, truly cares about his patients, ALWAYS on time, flexible, dependable, and most importantly I feel comfortable talking to him, he remembers me, unlike some Doctors, he remembers my my situation and everything about my situation and that really makes a difference for me.

Right on with my diagnosis. Very difficult to get Sharon to call after leaving messages. Sometimes it takes days and repeated calls to get a call back from Sharon. She is very personable and polite, just wish she would call me after leaving message.

Mr.Caster is not a good Dr.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! He spent only 10 minutes with me and acted like he knew exactly what was wrong.He is just out to take your money.His bedside manners are like zero. Ohhhh..and his secretary Sharron,she needs to retire due to either being lazy or dementia.She never answers the phone and forgets that you called.Something is horribly wrong with this whole practice I think it's time for that office (including the Dr.) to hang up their hats. Will not go back and waste my money.

I am a current patient of Dr. Caster. I think he is a good doctor in comparison with other psychiatrists I have gone to. The problem I have is with his secretary, Sharon. She is very lazy, rarely answers the phone, doesn't return phone calls, and she says she will call when your prescription is ready but usually forgets. When I have been in for an appointment she is usually out smoking in the parking lot. Her office is horribly messy, with files laying all over the place. I am on a prescription that I need to pick up monthly. Lately I feel like giving up on getting my prescription because it so difficult to pick it up each month. I would not recommend Dr. Caster mainly because of his secretary.

he made up his mind about me and nothing would change it after that. i don't think much of myself so maybe he's right. i still go because it doesn't seem like there was ever much hope for me, anyway. this office only confirmed that for me. why bother going to another one when you know his dislike will be reflected and follow you in the medical record. i gave up a long time ago. if there's still hope for you, find another.

His LAZY, LAZY, LAZY secretary can't be bothered to submit referrals or bills. I had to complete my own referrals and billing through tricare. He knows his stuff, but his bedside manner sucks and it's not worth the hassle.
