Sharon attended her first birth at age 19, and knew that women's health care was what she wanted to devote her working life to. She received her first degree from UCSC in women's studies, and then her bachelor’s in nursing and master’s in nursing from Oregon Health & Science University. She has worked at Legacy Emanuel for 16 years, for her entire nurse midwifery career. What she enjoys most about being a midwife at Legacy Emanuel is the opportunity to interact in a meaningful way with women and families from a very diverse background, helping them navigate through one of life's greatest passages — becoming a mother.
