Dr. David W Chow, MD

Dr. Chow was respectful and professional. He asked a lot of questions and appeared to be very thorough. He answered questions, treated me like a human being and offered helpful insight.

My first visit terrible. I took my mother to Dr.chow office in Brentwood ca. The appointment was made for this location. When I reach at dr. Office. The office was closed. I called office of dr. Saying that my mother has an appointment at walnut creek. While over the phone dr.chow said he can’t see us after making appointment. My mom has a swollen leg in pain. I said to the receptionist, she put me on hold want to speak to dr. Chow. Put me for hold for 5 min. Then she came and talk to me saying Dr. Chow said, that is not his problem, if she dying of pain. After listening , I hang up the phone. Never go to this dr. I won’t recommend. Ruthless doctor

No bedside manner. Doesnt even try to pretend he cares. In it for the money and thats it. Appts last anywhere from 3-10 minutes. Never smiles. His staff never smiles and seem absolutely miserable. He is just aweful.

I was on pain pills for years ( BACK PAIN) I've seen several DR nothing worked until I visited DR.CHOW now I'm off meds working everyday and getting stronger everyday

My MRI showed a piece of bone lodged in my lower spine, He still did an injection. For the next 3 months I was in unbearable pain. I went to another pain clinic, the doctor there was horrified when he got a look at my MRI. He asked if Dr. Chow had seen the MRI before he did the Injection. I told him I asked him the day of the procedure if he had seen the MRI, his answer was yes and no other response. The doctor was horrified and told me the injection not only did no good but also could have made the situation worse. He immediately refeared my over to a surgeon. For months I looked Dr chow in the eye with tears in my eyes from the pain I was in, I have never been so angry with such irresponsible medical care this Dr has done

This guy's specialty is injecting cordozone. And to be honest, he's skillful at it, and I would trust him to do it again...if only that's what my injuries needed. I went for a second opinion when after the cortozone shot made the pain in my joints and back worse. It turns out that I've a digestive problem that causes gout. After changing my diet and taking some pills to mitigate gout and the pain that it causes, I'm feeling a whole lot better. So he's good at injecting, but incompetent as a real doctor. And his staff really is the worse. I called for an invoice to be sent to me, and they really made me jump through hoops. Which sometimes you have to do, but they couldn't give me a reasonable answer as to why the hoops other than, "if you want the paper, jump". This doctor really should just pick up and go to another state and hopefully pick a better staff next time. By far the worst medical office ever, and I was in the military.

I came to see him as I was referred by my attorney.....did not feel that confident with him.....not a very good bedside manner....did not explain the procedure he wanted to do and rather wanted to rush me into an answer re doing the procedure.....I needed some time to research and consult with my lawyer and primary care physician and chiropractor.....not sure yet.

I started seeing Dr. Chow a few months ago, and I can already tell that I am in very good hands, and trust him more so than I have the vast majority of doctors in the past. I have multiple painful issues including Disc Degenaration, Bulging Discs in my lumbar spine, and deformed feet that cause a lot of referred pain to my back and knees. When I walked in I was at the verge of losing my job, he took me seriously, even at my young age 25. Not only that but he has worked aggressively, and at the same time is a very matter of fact doctor, he gives you the treatment you need. Not too much not to little. I have seen an improved quality of life in just two months, and while I still am in quite a bit of pain especially while active, which is a lot at age 25, I am very confident he will do his best to further work with me and manage the pain better. I sleep better already and an more confident in myself, knowing Dr. Chow is behind me and wants me to succeed in life, to the best of my… ability.

I have only been a brief patient of Dr. Chow's and have come to realize,Because of my medical history, my age he does not take me seriously I've been several motorcycle accidents. I have problems with my back neck &severe arthritis. I've had multiple surgeries. Some have been successful but most have been unsuccessful and he has Not able to keep my pain under control I've repeatedly asking for a Cortizone shots in my lower back he told me that I have to go to rehabilitation,fail there program then he can prescribe the proper care I'm disabled physically and mentalIy thru social Security Administration I think he is unprofessionalI and I can no longer trust him with my care! I do not recommend him to any of my friends family or anyone new seeking a new pain management or a spine treatment specialist.The appointment department is confused on organized he generally runs 1 to 2 hours behind schedule basically he shows up when he wants not when the patients need him.

I have a number of lower back issues, first diagnosed by Dr. Chow via an MRI he ordered in 2005. Since then, Dr. Chow has taken very good care of my back. I've gotten many epidurals over the years, allowing me to function well. His office has been very good at trying to get me on the schedule when the timing was important. When an epidural I received 3 years ago didn't alleviate the terrible pain I was experiencing, Dr. Chow ordered an MRI and determined that I needed surgery. He referred me to an excellent surgeon. Since then, I've been back to see him with other back issues. I've almost always been able to see him on short notice. Recently, I haven't had to wait long to see him, although in the past, I did at times. The only negative is that a couple of times he was terribly late and I was unable to see him. I saw the PA instead.
