Dr. David William Cline, MD

I spent approximately 2 hours with Dr. Cline. After the appointment he told me my bill would be $2000.00. For the time spent I do not feel the session was worth anything near the $1000.00 per hour charged. The main reason I went to him was for an FAA exam. The approved doctors are very limited and I think because of this he is able to excessively charge. I will definitely look into putting in a complaint as I feel there is an ethics violation of price gouging. The Aviation Medical Examiner(Aviation Medical Doctor) told me the report filed by Dr. Cline was ok, leaving me with the feeling that it wasn't worth the money charged.

I went to Dr. Cline for an evaluation for the FAA. I should have checked his reviews before seeing him as he gets a much deserved 1 star on Yelp and google reviews. Dr. Cline was almost an hour late for our appointment. He called after already being 25 minutes late saying that he would be late. He walking into his office 54 minutes late. He then took about 10 minutes trying to get ready for our appointment. He was very unorganized and could not find my file. He asked his receptionist where my file was, she replied “you took it home with you last night.” Dr. Cline is 84 or 85 years old, hard of hearing, unethical, and mentally unfit to be practicing medicine. I went to see Dr. Cline as part of the FAA HIMS program. Dr. Cline did not like that I was doing an alternative to A.A., I told Dr. Cline that I am not an religious person and A.A. has been shown in the court system to be religious. I informed him that mandating AA has been shown in the courts to be unconstitutional. … He claimed the FAA does not mandate AA, but I am required to see him. I was not allowed to go see a good psychiatrist, he is acting as a representative of the FAA. I could not even get my file to the FAA for review until I fulfilled all of Dr. Clines demands, one of his recommendations was attended AA. I had already fulfilled the rest of his demands, and he delayed my recertification process because I was not attending AA. This is clearly federally mandated religion. Also by delaying me he was able to require that I see him again so he could make more money. I was quoted that the price of the evaluation would be $1500. After the appointment he asked how much the Psychologist had charged for his evaluation. I told him I was charged $3000. He then told me his fee would be $2000. I was also instructed to leave the check with Lisa. After a few moments he said that Lisa had died a few years ago and to give it to his new receptionist. He could not come up with her name. When he called my counselor for collateral, it took him about 10 seconds to remember who he was calling about. When I finally received his report it was littered with mistakes and misquotes. In four separate paragraphs he attempts to say the same thing but contradicts himself each time. I was amazed at how poorly written this $2000 report was. These are just a few of my terrible experiences with Dr. Cline. Under no circumstance should anyone see this man. Refer to Yelp for further reviews on him. Also refer to Lundgren v. Dr.Cline overcharged me $250 for one hour visit. It cost a total of $750 FOR ONE HOUR!
