Dr. David Wayne Cosgrove, MD

Looks like the same person wrote all the bad reviews. All I can say is liar. He has always treated patients with respect, I've known him for 20 plus years and never had a bad experience. I've had several epidurals and they all were what was expected.

Dr Cosgrove was very kind to my husband and I . He was our neighbor in Cullman . Once we had a questions about my husbands pain . He was away on vacation but graciously called us back and talked to us a long time. Also , when my husband was passing he came over to help twice when I had questions . He was always very generous to help even when he was off the clock . He even went to the hospital to get my husband an oxygen mask when it wasn’t working . Very kind to us !

My best friend was his patient for years and I accompanied her to nearly every appointment. She was always kind to him and his office staff, bringing little gifts at the holidays, asking Dr. Cosgrove about his family, etc. Dr. Cosgrove, on the other hand, didn't seem to care that much about patients' well being, comfort,etc. At one point, he moved offices from a stand alone with easy entrance to one inside of a hospital, which then involved a parking garage and ALOT of walking. He did this so he could make additional money as an anethesiologist (he has his own plane, so...). Once at the office, it was a long wait. And eventually my friend was only seeing his NP the majority of the time. He prescribed alot of medications, maybe more than necessary. He stopped seeing my friend after an issue with his drug test requirements - very abruptly. My friend had no chance to ration her meds and went through horrible withdrawals, and he was no help at all - would not return her calls or refer her… to another doctor. Very rude and also hurtful as ahe had been his patient for years and ,like I mentioned, she was very kind to him and his staff and she tried not to be a bother. She had legitamite physical pain from multiple surgeries and health issues. Dr. Cosgrove seemed to only care about covering his own ---- and making as much money as possible.

For the life of me I cannot believe these bad reviews of Dr. Cosgrove. I was a patient of his from 2009 until 2019 and got switched to another Dr. By my worker's comp insurance carrier. And I can tell you now you don't know what "bad Dr." Even means. I found Dr. Cosgrove and his staff very friendly and efficient and they helped me greatly. You know the saying "you don't know what you got until it's gone" ? Well I know now. I wished I could get back to seeing him today.. And this is the gods honest truth people. Signed, Shane Johnson..

I have been seeing Dr. Cosgrove at PainSouth for over 10 years. My mother was also a patient of his. In all that time, Dr. Cosgrove and his staff were always professional and caring. I would recomend him to anyone.

This is by far the worst doctor I've ever seen in my life, even his assistant is horrible & rude. I am being 100% honest when I say this doctor has a mental problem. He has the worst bedside manner. I spent almost 4 hours at my appointment but seeing Dr. Cosgrove less than 20 minutes. I will be writing the medical board

This physician is rude, coarse, obnoxious. It could even be said that he is anti-social and displays attributes of a psychopath.

^This practice is terrible. The people in the office and on the phone are rude and condascending. I had been a patient of Dr. Cosgrove's in the past and needed further help. The staff refused at first to even even to acknowledge they had my referal, and then when they did, said Dr. Cosgrove decided not to accept me any longer as a patient. I asked why and they said, "it's his practice and he doesn't have to give a reason." Hateful and arrogant.

I was referred to Dr. Cosgrove by my Internist who practice across the street from each other. The first appointment available to me was 7 weeks from the day they submitted the referral. I received a package at home prior to my visit containing three separate groups of forms to be filled out. In total not counting simple signature pages, there were 31 pages to be completed which I did. When I arrived at my appointment, I was given a tablet with a series of questions to be answered. At least 70% of the questions had been on the paper questionnaire. I was sent to an exam room where a nurse/tech started asking me questions, many already answered at least twice. When Dr. Cosgrove came in he gave me a cursory physical exam. He asked me a series of yes/no questions and had no interest in me trying to expand on the answers. He had no conversation with me at all and simply asked questions and gave measurements to the assistant. He left and his assistant came back in with an appointment card… for two weeks later. He never said one thing about what he planned to do to help me. I had waited nearly two months to be told to wait two more weeks. His operation must huge and the number of patients in the waiting room indicated that if he saw each person in one hour, he could spend 7 minutes with each person. I felt like a draftee in the army or a head of beef moving through an auction. Perhaps all pain clinics are this way. I just hope not,

I met Cosgrove at my doctors officeoffice, ( Dr. M. Kendricks ), where Cosgrove at that time was working. I had been waiting a little while in my room and I got anxious. I decided to open my door and see if I could flag down a nurse to ask why I haven't been seen yet. When I opened the door there down the hall was a lady having a seizure and several nurses was tending to her. Well here comes a doctor and I pointed down the hall for him to go help. He stopped in front of me, put his hands on my shoulders and walked me backwards into my room and shut the door. I stood there in shock for a moment thinking #*Ï?°Ã?! I became furious that he did that and I left out of the room and was wanting to leave and the nurses wanted me to wait and talk to my doctor first. I sat down and shortly be came to me and I told him what happened. Then here comes Cosgrove and he is mad, that piece of you know what. What the heck was he mad for? He's a nut case! He and I was about ready to tie up. I told him… he has no business putting his hands on me and pushing me backwards into the room. Since he knew he was in trouble on that He be brought up the fact that I had been prescribed colonpin. He was trying to get that stopped. He was not my doctor so how would be know that unless he looked at Cosgrove's He thought he knew what he was talking about when he said to my doctor " We don't prescribed that ". My doctor calmly shook his head and said yes. HaHaHa! Broke Cosgrove heart. He was beat. and he walked awayaway. Never saw after that, thank goodness. He is a jerk that should not be dealing with the public in any fashion especialy people in pain. He's a nut!
