Dr. David Purushottamdas Desai, MD

Dr. D Desai is a very very good psychiatrist, and has been mine for 8 years. I would recommend Dr, Desai to any and everybody. you to will be very happy that you Tried Dr. Desai.

I had been seeing Dr.Desai for over a year and when I went into his office he would ask for my name, and my reason for seeing him, and after I would explain that I had been seeing him for anxiety/depression he didn’t even know what medication he had prescribed to me. He had kept me on the same three medications for over 6 months even after I expressed to him many times that they were doing absolutely nothing for me!! Don’t waste your money.

I was unable to confirm to HIS needs so he told me to see another doctor.

This is the second time I've gone to Dr Desai in a year. I saw him for 8 months total. Both times he gave me medication that my pharmacist questioned. I have had to quit the medication myself and now I am forced to go to a different doctor because there is no trust in this doctor. I am tired of being a pin cushion.

I’ve been on an anti-depressant for 4 years now, and at the advice of a separate specialist, I asked Dr. Desai what my best strategy was to begin weaning off my medication. He assured me that I was on a low dose of this medication and that I can quit cold turkey if I wanted to. I was concerned with this and asked him if this was the best method and again, he told me it would be okay to completely stop this medication. Here I am almost a week later having severe discontinuation symptoms. I spoke with my pharmacist and he advised a REAL strategy to wean off these meds. I will never book an appointment with Dr. Desai again after this egregious error in advising his patient.

Dr. Desai is truly an amazing psychiatrist and honestly cares about the wellbeing of his patients. He always knows the right questions to ask and a great listener. He’s not a physician that just ups your dosage each visit, he customizes your health plan and finds the perfect alternative or solution for you.

I am A Kaiser member and needed to see a Psychiatrist in order to continue my medication that I have been taking for 20 years. Kaiser set me up with this guy because I live near his office, I made an appointment, Called a week before to confirm that it was still on the books. Yes we are expecting you and we will see you on your scheduled date. The appointment date arrived and I drove over to this Guys office. 1001 E. Latham ave. Suite b Hemet, CA. When I checked in, I was told that the system is down and the phones are not working and the internet is down and the doctor Desai is not in. The poor lady that worked there didn't know what to say. This place must not be making any money if the internet is down, where is their IT person? Call the phone company, call Spectrum, call somebody so you can accept your patients. Why cause even more frustration to them? After all I am here to see a Psychiatrist.

Over prescribed meds for monetary gain. Does not provide emotional or community support to patients. Aggressive personality. Aweful human being. Be careful of what he prescribes. He is only in the medical profession for monetary gain not because he's concerned about the well being of his patients. Poor quality front desk clerks. Trashy office.

Dr. Desai is not mean; he is cruel. He judges those who are going through difficulties. He is manipulative; especially with female patients-(threatening hospitalization, discontinuance of medications, and the like.) I cannot think of a quality for this man that is positive. He use authority and power to lead you into potentially dangerous mental health situations. His own staff does not like him and will tell you; out loud. I could write a better review if Desai were a better man.

The wait time is awesome! I never wait over 20 minutes, But when i do go in he just asks if the dose of my meds are still good and writes a new prescription for me and then its over. I've never had a psychiatrist before but aren't they supposed to like talk to you for a while? Is this normal?
