Dr David C. Dodson, MD

I cannot recommend Dr. Dodson highly enough. I have been seeing him for many years, and throughout that time, he has helped me through numerous health scares and medical challenges with exceptional care and compassion. His medical expertise is unmatched, and his dedication to his patients is truly extraordinary. Not only is he, in my opinion, the best doctor in Santa Barbara, but he is also one of the finest human beings I’ve ever met. His kindness, attentiveness, and genuine concern for my well-being have made a lasting impact on my life. I am incredibly grateful to be under his care.

Worst staff I have ever met. Do not follow and totally clueless. Should not work in the medical industry.

Went for a simple annual physical / check up with this doctor. I get a bill for almost $300 a month later for all these Hepatitis blood tests that I never requested nor did this doctor discuss with me. I call the clinic to discuss this with them. They informed me to write a letter to the board submitting this issue. Well apparently Mr. Dodson finds a out about my complaint and takes it upon himself to call me later that evening and get very aggressive with me about my complaint. Tells me, "Well if you can't afford your medical bills, maybe you shouldn't come to the doctors." ARE YOU FRICKIN KIDDING ME!! What kind of a doctor says and does this?? Also on my wife''s annual physical, he tells her she needs a breast exam and asks her to go ahead and remove her shirt?? SERIOUSLY?? What kind of a scumbag doctor operates like this? Looking into legal action against this guy. Take it from us, anyone reading this, STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!!

I visited this Dr. with a patient of his who is an elderly woman. I found him very dismissive and non-attentive. He dismissed both hers and my concerns. No follow up. It is my strong suggestion that she find another doctor. I also have a friend who once saw this doctor and she ended up in litigation.

Dr. Dodson is simply the best. Great person and very attentive doctor. Being within the samsum clinic also makes visiting him and getting any additional tests needed (like blood work, etc) very convenient. I recommended him to my entire family. His support staff team is also amazing and always willing to help.

He listened very intently and was very kind. He took his time.I went there for my medicare wellness visit, because a friend of mine, who thought he was the greatest, recommended him and I totally agree.

Good guidance & suggestions

Rude, condescending, "I'm God, and you don't know anything" type of doctor. My first round of blood tests came back normal so he proceeded to blame all of my symptoms on depression and I couldn't get a word in after that. I am young (20s) and look fairly healthy so he refused to take me seriously, even when I told him I had a horrible fainting incident he just shrugged. I get the vibe some sexism was at play here, "oh just another hysterical anxious woman, her symptoms are all in her head". I mean he would literally roll his eyes at me. Well guess what a**hole, I went to some much better doctors and confirmed I actually have a rare genetic disorder and a heart condition. If I had continued to stay under this guy's care I would have just withered away and died while he threw SSRIs in my face. He is an arrogant jerk, did I make that clear? Don't go here if you have multiple symptoms and want someone to take them seriously! Oh yeah, and most of the front desk staff have cold, snippy… attitudes. Never setting foot in there again!
