Dr. David John Dormandy JR., DO

Dr. Dormandy seems to have very little interest in the concerns of his patients, and he does not really even pretend that he does. A visit with him will take 2-3 minutes. He will take a cursory look at the patient's records, use make a few quick pronouncements, brush aside all questions without addressing any of them, and he will be off. I faced a few health issues, and he has never really helped me with any of them. If someone has no health concerns and needs a doctor only to prescribe an annual blood test to check that everything is on order, he may be fine for this. For anything else, look elsewhere.

I have been seeing Dr. Dormandy for several years now and I can't say enough about the excellent care he provides. He always takes the time to listen to my concerns and is incredibly thorough in his examinations. Dr. Dormandy is also very knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner that puts me at ease. I feel very fortunate to have him as my physician and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor who provides exceptional care.

I recently visited Dr. Dormandy for a routine check-up and was extremely impressed with his professionalism and bedside manner. He was very efficient in conducting the necessary tests and assessments, yet he never made me feel rushed or neglected. In fact, he took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns in a kind and empathetic manner. Dr. Dormandy has a great ability to put his patients at ease and I left the appointment feeling confident and well-cared for.

Awesome experience

I recently switched to Dr. Dormandy after reading good reviews. He is condescending, rude and doesn't take the time to answer any questions. His attitude clearly shows he doesn't care and only likes uncomplicated patients. I regret switching to him. Im currently looking for a new primary.

I saw Dr. Dormandy as a new patient. The appointment lasted all of 10 minutes and he brushed off health issues and concerns I had. I felt very rushed. He also was condescending and rude. I would not recommend going to him.

I switched doctors as I was living in a new area of Buffalo and wanted to have a doctor nearby. I saw Dr. Dormandy had great reviews, so I had no qualms about becoming a patient of his. I completely regret this decision, however. In the few months that I have been his patient, I have been consistently disappointed by his practice and the care I received there. the first time I had an appointment with him, he spent half the appointment taking down my medical history, which is very complex. The other half was spent lecturing me about my weight, since my BMI is In the "obese" range but I workout 5 days a week normally and would consider myself to be in relatively good health overall. I had no time to address any concerns with him that I may have had. Then, I came back a few weeks later to drop off a form for him to fill out for my work. Dropping off the form was a painful, 1 hour endeavor. I called 2 weeks later to follow up and he hadn't bothered to sign the form yet allegedly, then when… I came to pick it up several days later they didn't have it at all and i had to print out an entire new one for him to fill out on the spot for me. Furthermore, I made an appointment with Dr. Dormandy to specifically discuss a certain issue and follow up on blood work. The blood work follow up couldn't even happen at this appointment because his office neglected to mail me the script for the bloodwork even though they had ample time to do so. I came in anyways, assuming that I would be able to address my other issue, and instead he spent half of this visit lecturing me about hypertension. I donate blood periodically. so I think I would know if i had hypertension as they always check my blood pressure when I do but its never been a problem in the past. I told him this and explained that my blood pressure is probably high due to being in a doctors office but he clearly didn't believe me. To make matters worse, I spent $20 for this visit and the issue I made the appointment about wasn't even addressed because Dr. Dormandy doesn't schedule enough time between appointments. At this point, I feel like Dr. Dormandy does not listen to anything I say, and I am hesitant to continue seeing him anymore.

I am beyond satisfied with every visit I had at Dr. Dormandy’s office. Very knowledgeable, compassionate, caring, and smart doctor. He has a patient-focused approach, which so many doctors are lucking. As an anemic patient, I’ve been always monitoring my health. But so far, none of the doctors that I have seen in the past, ordered as detailed and complete panel check-ups, as doctor Dormandy did. We were able to determine why was I experiencing certain issues, and get targeted treatment. Besides all of the above, Dr. Dormandy stands out with hid wholeheartedly care for his patient and that’s smth that Every patient needs to experience. He takes time to answers all of your questions and provides explanations, based on your complaints. I sincerely trust Dr. Dormandy, his medical knowledge, and his judgment.
