His bedside manner is beyond compare. Compassionate, understanding and a sense of humor. Couldn't have asked for a better surgeon.

When I went to Dr. Eisenberg, I originally thought he was great. He seemed knowledgable and had a good bedside manner and explained things convincingly. I trusted him. In hindsight, I realize it was smoke and mirrors. Because of my mammograms, Dr. Eisenberg recommended that I get MRIs every 6 months. I read online that MRIs should be scheduled around your cycle, to avoid false positives. So I called Dr. Eisenberg's office to inquire about this, and was assured that "anytime is fine". So I did the MRI. It came back as BIRADS 4 (suspicious) and that I needed a biopsy. I was shocked. I assumed Dr. Eisenberg would call me to explain. But he never did. Luckily my primary doctor also received the report and HE called me TWICE--once to explain the results and again to check up on me. I called Dr. Eisenberg's nurse and asked why he didn't call me. This nurse (I'll call her "R") was incredibly rude and had a bad attitude. Regardless, these… were abnormal results from a test that HE ordered. I figured he HAD to call. So I waited. Days went by. The silence was deafening. Without any information or explanation, I called "R" again, practically pleading for a doctor--if not Dr. Eisenberg, than ANY doctor--to call. "R" was again snotty and dismissive and made me feel as if I was inconveniencing HER. Unbelievable. Many of Dr. Eisenberg's patients are women who are facing a diagnosis of breast cancer, and are understandably anxious and frightened. If you have no compassion for women in this situation, find a different job! So, at this point I am facing a biopsy, a doctor that won't explain the results, and a nurse with a bad attitude. I left his practice immediately and got a second opinion. The new doctor told me that there were "questionable" judgments being made, and the tests I had done were not up to "current standards". She ordered another MRI (which was only a few weeks later)--but THIS one was scheduled around my cycle. Miraculously, it came back normal! If I had believed Dr. Eisenberg, I would have undergone an unnecessary biopsy and subjected myself to needless stress and anxiety. What kind of doctor orders expensive tests and does not follow proper protocol? What kind of doctor won't return your calls when your report comes back as potentially cancerous? It seems negligent. I'm not sure what is wrong with Dr. Eisenberg. I wondered if he is undergoing some sort of mid-life crisis. He talks a good game and is very reassuring. But the bottom line is "no one is minding the store."

I was referred to Dr. Eisenberg a little over 3 years ago for a biopsy. I was going out of my mind with worry and he instantly put me at ease. The biopsy came back malignant and I needed further surgery. Dr. Eisenberg was so incredible through the entire process and I will always be eternally grateful. He never rushed through an appointment, he always gave me more than one option while explaining the pros and cons of each. He really seemed to care about my emotional well being as well as getting me physically well. After surgery, he came to check on me to see how I was doing and came again the next morning. I have routine follow ups to make sure there is no reoccurrence and he is always fantastic. I love his staff. The only negative thing I can say is that the parking at Hartford Hospital can be quite troublesome but small price to pay for such great care.
