Dr. David Israel Epstein

Doctor Epstein was my doctor after suffering an ACL tear. From day one I was comfortable being in his care and maintained a positive attitude in the time coming towards my surgery. After surgery Doctor Epstein was extremely optimistic on me making a full recovery which motivated me to push myself through months of rigorous physical therapy. I was recently discharged as patient and if another injury ever occurs I would gladly go back to see Doctor Epstein and highly recommend him.

As I was going for a swim one day I was alerted by a struggling swimmer in the deep end of the pool. In an effort to assist her I promptly ran and dove into the pool. As I dove into the pool I head something that sounded like a gun shot go off. Without a breath I reached Bridget and lifted her out of the pool, rolled her over and performed CPR after learning that she wasn't breathing. Within minutes she was throwing up chlorinated water on the pool floor. After coming into consciousness she assisted me to the hospital for x-rays of my Achilles tendon. Learning that it was ruptured I scheduled an appointment to the suggested doctor by the hospital, after meeting him I scheduled an appointment to meet with Dr. Epstein. In our initial visit we discussed operating and non-operable methods for treating the tendon. After reviewing the recovery time and plan for recovery I decided to do the operation. This was the first time I ever had Anesthesia. The surgical center In Cedar Knolls is in the… same building as the scheduled pre & post op visits. The surgery went well, my family really supported me during the time I was off my feet, and I was into Physical Therapy with Sports Care after 6 weeks. I happy to report that this was a great experience for me. I would suggest a plan for the 6 weeks between PT- A plan that doesn't consist of binge watching Netflix. I'm grateful for Dr. Epstein's and Sports Care's support. Thank You!
