Great Doctor ! The Most Competent I have ever met. My colon Ruptured and I went to my closest hospital (It was NOT the Mayo). I developed Sepsis and spent a month there ( Gilbert M***Y ) and the treatment I received almost ended my Life. I was released with a ileostomy / Bag on my side and told to return to be reconnected in 3 months. After I was released I thought there has to be better out there, I contracted the Mayo , Submitted my medical records and was told the review could take a bit of time. To my surprise I was called within a week and told that Dr. Etzioni ( Chief of Surgery Mayo Clinic Phoenix) would like to see me. In our First meeting I was told that the other surgeon had sewn my colon shut, creating a dangerous situation. He said it will take Two surgeries to get me put back together correctly. He looked to my Wife and said (" Robert has been through a lot. We will take care Him") And he did; I received the best care of my Life. Dr. Etzioni In an amazing Surgeon!

I’m a general surgeon and vascular surgeon Who developed diverticulitis. I changed my whole insurance plan for my company with 75 employees and myself in order to go to mayo clinic after my first bout of diverticulitis at an outlying hospital. I met Dr Etzioni And told him that the chances of me having a second episode are relatively high and the reason for my visit was for him to know my history and if I do develop a second bout of diverticulitis I will go to mayo clinic and I would like for him to take care of me. I developed Abdominal pain and I knew I had diverticulitis again. I spoke with him over the phone and he was rude and said I don’t know what you have over the phone. I therefore told him that I will be going to mail clinic emergency room to get a CAT scan. I asked the emergency room physician to notify the doctor. They admitted me to the hospital under a internist. I asked the internist multiple times if he notified Dr Etzioni. He said yes. Not once during my admission… did he show up to see me or have one of his residents or fellows see me. The only person that saw me was my vascular surgery buddy who works at Mayo clinic and I told him how disappointed I am and he said he was not surprised. Don’t go there

Dr. Etzioni explained the situation in a way that wouldn't scare or frighten me. I am feeling 100 times better that I have in 10 years. Thank you! I'd recommend him too.

I had extensive cancer removal . Dr. Etzioni did part of my multiple surgeries and I have nothing bad to say , I'm alive . The doctor and his staff really came thru for me .would I recommend him ? Absolutely! He will be returning my colostomy in a few months and I have no fears that it will go smoothly and professionally. Thank you Dr. Etzioni.

Dr. Etzioni impressed me with his honesty, his ability to explain the situation and options, and his skill in the OR. Outcome was excellent. Other doctors had painted a much bleaker picture but Dr. Etzioni was able to effect a much more positive outcome. Amazing doctor who genuinely cares for his patients.

I wish all doctors would be as kind, considerate, prompt and just a high quaility doctor. I had a problem that went treated for years, Dr David Etzioni identify my problem right away. I feel the best I have felt in 20 years. Thank Dr. Etzioni.
