Dr. David Michael Ferriss, MD

Excellent GI care, very thorough, discusses diagnosis and treatment well, answers all questions.

I have been a patient of Dr Ferriss for over 10 years. He is more formal than other doctors I have but I have found him to be very thorough. I have unusual health problems as I am a polio survivor. He listened, took that into account, ordered tests to help him make an accurate diagnosis. I would recommend him.

Plays the PhD card... Without listening carefully and extremely impatient and acts out to be in a rush. Told me that I was somatic and attempted to diagnose me before hearing out my health history. Insulted my intelligence and insulted the other past GI physicians I had been treated by in the past. During abdominal examination in which I had kept reflexively reaching up to grab my gut as I was induced by intense pain while he was pressing into my abdomen I was then repeatedly grabbed by my wrists that were thrusts down at my sides each time. As soon as he realized that skin tone becalmed flushed being caused by both my frustration being brought on by intense abdominal pain during the abdominal exams that Dr Ferriss performed upon myself he automatically played the PhD card by insisting that I was feeling anxious.... I explained to him, "No, that it's called PAIN!" My husband was so in shock as much as I was by the end of one of the briefest visits from any GI Doctor I have Ever… had! After discussing this whole nightmare of an experience with one of my closest friends who just so happens to have been a Hospital Administrator form one of Americas Top Hospitals in the US... She was like " I wouldn't let him operate on me and how dare he Insult your intelligence like that!?!" I mentioned to her about when he challenged me about "Who is the one asking questions here?" She was so apologetic about that and embarrassed on behalf of the Medical Community... I wasn't even allowed to ask serious questions that I have and he wants to go ahead and diagnose me as being somatic and play the PhD? Well, fortunately I've referred to someone much better with a truly incredible most Professional Bedside Manner at another Medical Facility. Thank God I finally found another GI specialist (unlike this one) that knows how to treat people with real respect and compassion the listens with compassion and doesn't "man-handle" their patients. I recommend that this dr find another field like my peers in the medical community would say.

Since we began going to Dr. Ferriss following my husbands surgery, Dr. Farris was polite, courteous, and exhibited excellent bedside manners. He answer all our questions and did not make us feel that he was in a hurry to leave. His bedside manner was appropriate for the situation.However, he was late for our appointment due to an issue that had occurred in surgery; according to his staff. He did apologize for his tardiness. The staff are excellent as well. Dr. Ferriss is not one for small talk but he will make sure that you have all the information that you need prior to your next follow-up visit. I would recommend anyone to Dr. Ferriss. He is focused but not arrogant.

I had heard Dr. Ferris was a bit on the quick side, but he did take the time with me and with my husband as both of us had the procedure performed. He is quick and to the point, there's not small talk, but if you say, wait, I have a few more questions, he stops and is very attentive. I really like him.

I was referred to Dr. Ferriss. My experience was not a great one. I felt that he did not answer my questions and was very rude. He may be a very good doctor, however, he is very cocky. His attitude and lack of caring frustrated me. During my endoscopy, my husband even witnessed this. Like I said before, he may be a great doctor, but his attitude towards patients is not as high quality. After 3-4 appointments with him, I asked Boorland Groover Clinic to find me a different doctor.
