Dr. David Michael Fettig, MD

Dr. Fettig was able to diagnose a rare condition that was baffling other doctors and explain in detail the treatment plan for my son's unusual condition. We spent 4 months of well meaning doctors trying things, with no real answers, and that experience was both physically and emotionally draining. Dr. Fettig agreed to take us on, worked us in sooner than our original appointment was scheduled for, saw us, spent time with us, explained everything, didn't sugar coat anything, and answered all our questions honestly and openly (even the dumb ones). It was a super experience, and we are so relieved to have some answers. I feel very confident that he is a great doctor, and we are extremely happy with the process so far.

I've seen Dr. Fettig only once so far. I had just had gastric sleeve surgery and had been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver that the surgeon had discovered incidentally. Dr. Fettig was quite personable but I was scared already and he wanted to perform a colonoscopy and EGD. I told him that I could not drink that big prep. In his office, I had a fair experience as he seemed to minimize the disease and I left still very scared. Well then after I paid $45 for a prep from their "in office" pharmacy, it turned out to be a half gallon prep to drink. I could not drink the prep and began throwing up immediately so I called his office a total of 6 times before anyone returned my call the day before my procedure. When they finally called me back they offered no other alternative prep for me so I told them I was not going to be able to tolerate this because I could not "just sip" on this stuff due to vomiting. The person who called me back after talking to him was very gruff and short. They… had drawn a great deal of labwork on my visit and despite several calls, I was never able to get any results. I was told by a message on my voicemail that I could get them "offline". While I realize that most offices handle labs this way, I was given no instruction regarding how to retrieve them. I am undecided as to whether I will see this doctor again or find another one.
