Doctor David Finley has been a resident of Monroe, Louisiana for over thirty years. He is married to Valerie and they have five children, Megan, Ashton, Kaleb, and twins Kristin and Coalton. David enjoys fishing, working on projects around the house and spending time with his family. He volunteers numerous hours teaching youth good values and team spirit as a summer baseball coach and football coach in the fall. In addition he also volunteers his time as a member of the Louisiana Dental Association Well Being Dentist Committee.
Dr. Finley´s parents are both retired educators, mother Donna taught second grade and helped mold children´s minds and good values for many years at Robinson Elementary School, father Richard (“Doc”) taught mathematics at Northeast Louisiana University (now the University of Louisiana of Monroe) and has volunteered his time for over thirty years to local youth as a coach and organizational force of the Monroe Youth Baseball Association.
…Education has always been important to Doctor Finley. A product of the Monroe City School System, he is a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and Louisiana State University with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.
Doctor Finley believes that education is a never ending process of discovery and that your real education begins when you graduate from school. In keeping with this philosophy, Doctor Finley takes hundreds of hours of continuing education to keep his skills on the cutting edge of technology. He is one of the first dentists in Louisiana to achieve Laser Certification by the World Clinical Laser Institute. He is also North Louisiana's only accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. An Accredited Dentist has passed a very rigorous Accreditation Board Examination and has a very high level of technical skill and ability in cosmetic dentistry. One of his accreditation cases was even chosen to be published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry as an example of excellence in cosmetic dentistry. He recently won three medals for his smile creations at the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry scientific session in Orlando, Florida and repeated as a medal winner at the AACD meeting in Vancouver Canada. His special interests in dentistry are smile creation and implant reconstruction.
