Dr. David L Fishkin, MD

I visited the Gastroenterology Medical office bldg on Doctor Oaks dr in Martinsburg for a pre op appointment and was very upset when an unmasked person was allowed to remain in the waiting room and was not asked to wear a mask by the receptionist even tho signs were posted and the WVU web site clearly states all visitors must wear masks!. The receptionist was very rude when I expressed my concern! Dr Fishkin might be a good doctor but I hope I never have to go back to this facility as I felt my health and safety were being disrespected at the expense of an anti masker! They profess to be concerned about your health but their actions speak otherwise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Fishkin is a wonderful, excellent physician who really cares about his patients. He takes your medical concerns seriously and will relentlessly pursue a solution to your problem. He has a real gift and our area is lucky to have such a highly skilled doctor..

I had an overall great experience with the dr. He is very polite, and has wonderful bedside manors. I really appreciate the sit down new patients get in his office to talk about what's been going on & history etc. I would definately recommend him.

There must not be very many gastroenterologists in the area because he is definitely overbooked and has very little time to listen to you or find out about your symptoms. He tries to move onto the next person as fast as he can. I didn't feel like he took my pain seriously and during a procedure I had he came into the OR room with his cell phone ringing and talking about all kinds of stuff that had nothing to do with my procedure. He didn't even acknowledge me until he started asking me some questions that seemed somewhat hostile and then began yelling at one of the nurses which was the only nurse I liked and the only one that helped calm me down. I don't doubt that he's an intelligent doctor I just think he's way overworked and that his bedside manner has severely suffered as a result.

Dr. Fishkin through good doctoring, patience, and care and concern saved both my husband and my son's lives. When my 30 year old son presented with symptoms it would have been easy to say given his young age and this being a one time occurance we will wait but he instead perservered scheduling tests that were above and beyond and in doing so found a polyp that would have been malignant within two years. He diagnosed my husband and prevented a similar scenario for him. In my opinion he is tops as a doctor and an individual.

Wait time at office visits were at least an hour. He had four people booked at the same time. No "cure" for my problem, he just treated my symptoms. He spent most of his time with me reading through my chart trying to figure out why I was there. Then dismissing me, without any suggestions, right after he said that it concerned him that I was having trouble breathing.

Courteous Staff. In and out quickly what else is there to say!
