Dr. David Philip Franco, MD

The doctor is great. He explains everything completely. The only issue that I had was a miscommunication in an appointment. I arrived and my appointment had been changed. I did not receive a call of the cancellation. I came from Talladega to Birmingham which was an inconvenience to not see the doctor.

Nice office; convenient. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Dr. Franco was a very good listener and took plenty of time to talk & ask questions. He made good recommendations and his answers seemed very practical.

Dr. is the best doctor ever to treat me. He is very knowledgeable in pulmonology but he asks questions about overall health. He at least tolerates my off beat sense of humor.

Knowledgeable I guess but not very friendly and pretty awkward. Walked out of the room when we were still talking so we in turn were talking to his back. Typical doctor attitude. Was not impressed.

Have been trying to call the office for 3 straight days - multiple times a day - and no answer. I would love to have the results from my sleep study so I can get my CPAP machine ordered. Doesn't take that long to read results and advise your patient on the best way ahead. If I was the firm he is partnering with in Birmingham I would look long and hard at these reviews as they all have a common theme. I bet if they called to collect money and we didn't answer or return their call straight to collections we would go. But as a doctor you would think he would give his patients - the same ones that pay for his practice - the same respect they give him.

The office will not return calls. All calls go directly to voicemail. I waited two weeks for a return call.....noone ever called. I called and left another message....days later and noone has ever returned my call. I can't get my test results, an appointment changed....NOTHING. I need my results so that I can go elsewhere!! I've never experienced such unprofessionalism in my life!

Waited over an hour for scheduled office appointment then another hour to schedule a sleep test at his office the same day-called and had to leave messages on office machine to receive results of tests which I never got because he won’t release them without reading first—I called every day for 2 weeks—Then waited another 2 weeks for Franco to sign and release paperwork to receive cpap equipment

Took a long time to get anyone to answer the phone....not minutes....DAYS. Need a copy of prescription sent to Versus (new company) and cannot get a call back or talk to anyone.

Similar negative experience. Nearly impossible to get apt, left message every day waiting for response after waiting a week due to greeting. Ironically the voicemail greeting said, "please do not leave multiple messages". I'm guessing people do it a lot since they don't return calls. Finally called his nurse line who did return call. During appt, Dr Franco literally got up and walked out while I was talking to see nurse after he told me to "tell him what is going on". Gives me the impression he wasn't listening. Completed study and still no results. Guess I'll call and leave a message to not be returned.
