Dr. David Gwin Freas, MD

Our family started with Dr. Freas when he started with the HMO in Annapolis, then moved with him to Millersville. He left that because the record-keeping had become so sloppy that he couldn't keep track of what treatments his patients had been having. He always knew me and my family and and always asked about each of our 4 children by name. His care was personal and exceptional and to come into the office and find him gone and no one willing to answer any questions at all was horrifying! I am disgusted, and have inquired several times, but always am met with the "I'm sorry, I can't say" nonsense! Shame on them!

Noboby can replace Dr. Freas. If the Waugh Chapel practice could bring patients from other practices, including their [all doctors'] previous employer, then why can't Waugh Chapel be forced into telling Dr. Freas' former patients where he went (or when he becomes available again), especially if he is, once again, practicing medicine? I just saw several "great" reviews for Dr. Freas on another website and they are all dated in 2014, which means Dr. Freas must be practicing medicine or the website is falsifying patient reviews of the doctor; in either case, someone should correct the situation and inform his former patients. I, like his other patients, would follow him across the state... just to receive great PCP care, again, is worth it! The old office has history of being indifferent to Dr. Freas' old patients, and I've experienced a hostile environment at times, especially when trying to get a same-day "sick" appt. Really miss Dr. Freas!

I've read the others comments, and echo their sentiments about the missing of Dr. Freas from his practice. I too had been with him since the Columbia Medical Plan HMO days. He's a great doctor, and really knows his medicine ... and does a great job with saving patients, and helping them with the best of outcomes. He gets to know his patients, and he remembers them. He would do great in his own, private, practice. Perhaps he has a 1 year waiting period, and will do just that? I'm sure he would have plenty of patients to work with again. This has been a sad year, with the sudden exit, no warning or contact information for patients, and no idea if we can be happy to see him again one day. Hope you are doing well, and have some years left to come back and enjoy what you do best .... which is great medical care for your patients!

Best doctor I ever had but he's now m.I.a. wish you well

I am so sad that we are unable to find Dr Freas. AAMC has lost a REAL DOCTOR. There are not many of them out there. He spent time with his patience and new their background and I am sure in the long run saved the Hospital money because he could diagnose problems without much of the newfangled high cost tests because he listened and knew their medical background. I was his patient for amost 20 years. I followed him from Maryland Physician's and if I could find him would follow him there. God Bless you wherever you are!

I see many are requesting to know what happen to Dr. Freas. I too have been a patient of his for 21 years as well as my family. He is the best doctor. I found out that he was dismissed by AAMC who is the parent company of the office. I also found out that the reason he was dismissed was because he spent too much time with his patients and that it was costing AAMC money. As most of us know....that is why we love him as a doctor. I am sad he is gone and plan to find another office to go to. The other doctors in that office are OK...but they are not Dr. Freas. My opinion...AAMC will lose many patients because of the selfishness and need to make money instead of taking care of patients.

Does anyone know what happen to Dr Freas? He is no longer with Waugh Chapel family medicine and I can't find him anywhere! He was the best Dr I have ever had and want to keep going to him. My husband and I started going to him about 5 years ago and absolutely love him! He is so personable, caring and kind. He takes his time with his patients and truely seems to care. I hope that he is still practicing medicine because I can't imagine going to anyone else.

DR. FREAS HAS A GREAT BED SIDE MANNER AND CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. HE DIAGNOIS THE PROBLEM AND TREATS YOU WITH THE PROPER MEDICATION. HE DOESN'T RUSH YOU OUT OF HIS OFFICE, WHEN YOU LEAVE YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT THE VISIT AND THE EXCELLENT TREATMENT. I WOULD RECOMMENT HIM WITH NO HESITATION. HE HAS A EXCELLENT STAFF.

Best Doctor I have had yet.Takes his time and is very knowledgeable and personable. Great with adults, children, and teenagers too!
