Dr. David Gamburg, MD

Never go see a doctor whose office is inside of a strip mall. What a joke. Dr. David Gamburg came into the examining room (located inside of a slummy, dirty two-room “doctor’s” office that was inside of a cheap, grungy strip mall). He greeted me with a weak handshake. He had this enormous ego, acting as though he was oh-so important, which was laughable… He asked inane questions regarding the medical records I’d already previously emailed to him (that he never bothered to look at after REQUIRING that I send them before our first visit)…. Then he decides to tell me that he doesn’t accept my insurance (after his surly secretary told me twice the week before that they DO accept it). He said that he wanted me to BUY the Botox drug for my migraines up front (for $500) and then told me that it would need to be shipped to me and that I would need to bring it refrigerated into his office, where he would charge me $500 to inject it - while not taking my insurance. Seriously?? He wanted to… inject 50 mg over what my first neurologist injected. Wasted a day out of my life and a full tank of gas.

I went to Gamburg with sharp pains in the back of my head. He was very dismissive and talked down to me and said "It's tension headaches". No, I said....I've had tension headaches.....this is not a tension headache. He stood firm on tension headaches and i asked if there were any way possible it could be something else. No he said...I can't help you, lots of people have tension headaches and they don't require pain management. Feeling the need to add insult to his 5 minute diagnosis....possibly thinking i was drug seeking. I went somewhere else where they actually listened to me and did an MRI of my head and found out i have Chiari malformation, a downward displacement of the brain and the brain pushes against the back of the skull....and it's even more painful than it sounds. I've mentioned this to other people who went to him and they all agreed that he was rude, arrogant and dismissive, and really didn't seem to know much about anything. It's bad enough living with chronic pain,… and then when you seek help from a 'medical professional' they treat you like dirt. I highly suggest going to someone else.

I have been a patient of this doctor for many (15?) years. Dr.Gamburg is the top in his field but the staff under him is less than sub-par. Most of the patients are suffering from work-related injuries and the staff does not follow through on necessary paperwork, calls are not returned and prescriptions are overlooked or ordered inaccurately. Calls from the pharmacist are also ignored. I feel he is spread too thin with multiple locations which exacerbates the difficulties.

I was told today that I should expect to wait 40 minutes to an hour after my scheduled time at an doctors appointment after complaining that I had to wait an hour to be seen. Not to mention that the doctor does not fill out disability paper work and ignored a phone call from a Judge from Social Security. I called Dr. Gamburg 3 times and he never returned my call. I complained to the office manager and her reply was "He does not return mine either and he signs my pay checks." And lastly, now Gamburg is doing COSMETIC botex. Think twice folks..he just wants your money.

I went here in pain and I left in pain. He did nothing to help me and really didn't care about anything but money

I have been a patient of Dr. Gamburg's for at least 12 years if not more. My pain level at the time was a 10 and better, I couldn't walk well, couldn't stand, sit,bend,reach or lay on my bed for more than 20 minutes at a time. I was in pain 99 percent of the time.Dr. Gamburg and his staff were very patient friendly ,treated me with care and with a complete assessment began a treatment regiment that ended with great results .... I now have pain maybe 20 to 30 percent of the time at a pain level of 5 or 6 when it happens and I can work,walk and go to the gym.... This team of professionals are the best ever... Everyone might not see results as great as mine but any pain relief is better than none

You want a Doctor with a heart correct? This Doctor is strictly out for himselfand will burn you if he wants without losing a minute of sleep.

This is a very poor excuse for a doctor as he attempts to squeeze too many procedures into one day at the cost of poor quality at every level. Avoid with a doubt.
