Dr. David Stuart Gams, MD

I was his patient near the end of his term here, not sure if he is back practicing or gone for good. If gone, all I can say is good riddance. He walked in the room when it was time for my baby to be born, stuff a suction inside and pulled him out with it... deformed his head. I was yelling for him to stop the whole time as I was well aware of the risks and did not want a suction used on my baby. Then, he left the hospital and was not reachable for over 48 hours. My left side from my neck down to my toes was mostly paralyzed, and no one could help me without a doctor's orders, but my doctor was AWOL. He called me, 48 hours after my delivery, and said, "My pipe busted in my home and flooded it so I forgot you were in the hospital." Ummm... He forgot he was a doctor for 2 whole days?

Dr Gams was my doctor at Brookwook Hospital with all 3 of children, 2 of which are are twins... I could not have ask for a better doctor, every visit he was smiling, caring and truly took the time to listen to my needs. The staff would call and check on me and the babies often. Once my twins were born one of the nurses even came to my home to bring me meds and to check on the lil ones...

I'm so glad I found out why this doctor's office closed and he lost his house in Birmingham. An addicted doctor was no what I needed. He was sent to a Rehabilitaton Faility; then to work in a prison for women, but I was told he doesnt do well there and one girl has died. His mind is not on his work,and things a medical student knows don't seem to be known by him. Obviously, the rehab didn't work, but they don't drug test him at the prison, as Tutwiler just made Number One in worst prisons in USA. The federal government investigated that prison and others in Alabama, and they are shameful. Those inmates are human beings regardless of what they did or didn't do. There's a girl there now who needs a Gastrointestinal (G.I) doctor badly, and the proper foods, as has had colostomy & ileostoy, and he caused her to lose another four inhes of her intestine by making her wait for hours, before he had an ambulace called when he could clearly see that ileostomy was blocked and intestine… was out of her body 7 - 8" and bleedin badly. Yet, he had her drinking fluids and saying he was "observing" her. What a quack! Never will ever see him again, and so sorry for those women in Tutwiler no matter how they got there. So many judges just railroading people in to make a name for themselves. Women eating Grade D meat - Not Fit For Human Consumption. This is not a third world country, or at least it wasn't fonded as such. Disgusting man that Dr. Gams.

He was the greatest doctor ever. He deliver both of my children when he was in Mobile. When he left I even made a trip to Birmingham to be seen at that office.

I guess I am the last to know he moved. Just found out today. He has been my Dr. for eight years. When both my Internist and Cardiologist in Tuscaloosa missed that I was diabetic, Dr. Gams ordered an A1C and rightfully diagnosed and treated me, giving lots of time and advice. He also caught another female issue and treated it very professionally. I owe him plenty, wish him the best and and will miss him greatly.

Im sorry to hear that the office has closed,I dont now what happenened. I'm really going to miss my doctor, he was the greatest.

I appreciated his professional approach and attitude towards my pregnancy. Even during some of my more overreacting moments, he was cool and calm and very reassuring to me. He did not let me become of victim of my own worries! I plan on having another child soon, I would be more than happy to have him as my doctor again.

Dr. Gams has been my doctor for over 5 years. I was very pleased with the care I recieved when delivering my first child. Dr. Gams was very patient throughout my labor and I could not have had a better experience. I am looking forward to the upcoming birth of my second child and have complete trust in Dr. Gams.

When I told dr. Gams I was not concerned about gettinh pregnant because my partner cannot have children he replied ''Oh is that what he told you?'' I should have .alled out right then! ALso I was kept waiting for over an hour.
