Dr. David Gilmore is a Meridian native and third generation dentist, following his great uncle and father into the field of dentistry. Dr. Gilmore received his under graduate and dental degrees from the University of Mississippi in 1978 and 1982 respectively.
Dr Gilmore married Mary Cummings in 1979 and they have three children, Marshall, Mary Katherine and Laura Beth. Mary worked as a registered dietitian and diabetes educator for fifteen years before joining Dr. Gilmore's dental practice as his office manager in 2005.
Dr. Gilmore and his staff believe oral health is a vital part of an individuals overall health and well-being. His practice is focused on complete dental care with a special emphasis on cosmetic and restorative dentistry. From financial arrangements to patient care, Dr Gilmore's dedicated team is committed to helping patients receive optimal dental treatment.
Dr Gilmore works closely with other capable dental specialists to help patients achieve …complete dental care, whether it is through orthodontics, periodontal therapy, implants or oral surgery. It is his belief that patients can best be served by accurately diagnosing each dental patient's needs and situation and helping them prioritize and achieve the treatment they deserve for optimal dental health.
Dr. Gilmore is a member of the Meridian Area Dental Society where he served as president, the Mississippi Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He has served as an advisor to the Meridian Community College School of Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting Programs. He has many hours of continuing education training in orthodontics, TMJ disorders, implants, and cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Dr. Gilmore has held numerous memberships in groups affiliated with his specific areas of focus. He has also trained with top dental clinicians around the country, and has made a commitment to pursue excellence in treating his patients comprehensively and comfortably, improving their overall health and self-confidence.
Dr Gilmore is an elder and lifetime member of First Christian Church, where he sings in the choir. Dr Gilmore has traveled to Belize and the Amazon River Basin in Brazil, providing dental care to people in remote villages. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also likes to travel to Oxford and his fishing camp on the Tombigbee River.
