Dr. David Lee Goldbloom, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Goldbloom for a while now and am extremely satisfied with him. Although he does not come off as softy and feely like a counselor/social worker would, he has my best interest at heart. He asks very direct, poignant and why questions so he can obtain a better understanding of my current situation, my rationale for the actions/decisions I have made or will make to influence by current situation as well as how I feel about it. The questions also require me to do some internal reflection, which can be very difficult and uncomfortable to do at times. However, the internal reflections has allowed me to better understand myself, prioritize what is important to me and make meaning changes in my behavior and decisions to improve the quality of my life and relationships.

I agree with the other reviews on here. This Dr. makes you feel uncomfortable and is extremely judgmental during your sessions. He relies purely on medication rather then helping any underlying issues BUT you aren’t comfortable enough sharing anything with him because he’s got this “I’m better then you” attitude anyway. As an RN myself I believe this doctor is out of touch with the underlying layers of addiction, the treatment of it and he lacks the necessary skills to truly help anyone. He teeters on being heartless and more often than not I felt worse about myself after seeing him when I felt as though he should have been motivational and supportive.

I do not think Dr. Goldbloom is a good psychiatrist and that is why I am giving him 1 star. I always felt awkward in his office. The discussions I had with him were weird and disjointed. I could never be totally honest with him because I felt like he was judging me. He never made me feel safe in his office. I was constantly on guard. I knew he had my best interest at heart, but the way he conveys his passion about psychiatry is just bizarre. I want to feel comfortable when I see my doctor. I did not feel comfortable around him. I always felt exposed (in a bad way).

He's a weirdo. Makes u feel worse and gave me the creeps.
