Where to begin.....I've battled with chronic anemia/iron deficiency for my entire life and currently receive regular iv infusions. My hematologist wanted to rule out internal bleeding and find answers for some of my perplexing symptoms so she sent me to Dr G. Unfortunately Dr G got sidetracked by my Celiac diagnosis from 15 years ago - diagnosed with family history & blood test, later confirmed with genetic testing. He was so preoccupied trying to prove that I dont have Celiac that he failed to ever engage me about the lack of iron absorption, the highly irregular HIDA scan results, or my persistent right side pain. Basically ladies, he was a typical dismissive male; he disregarded my concerns and persistent abdominal pain - even declaring he "doesn't treat pain" - I never once asked for an Rx, just an answer! Pointless waste of time and money.

This man is, by leaps and bounds, the best doctor I have ever had. After 13 immensely frustrating years of suffering extreme symptoms, without a proper diagnosis, Dr. Grunkemeier was successful in pinpointing my extremely rare illness. One of the endocrine system, that was completely outside of his speciality. Without exaggeration, I would estimate that I saw upwards of thirty practitioners, in varying fields of specialty. All with zero success. He is the only one that got it right. Having the proper diagnosis of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 1, has dramatically improved my daily quality of life. The symptoms are now being properly treated, allowing me to function again. I am immensely grateful. It also does not hurt that He is extremely handsome, and highly personable. He gives his patients ample time, and attention. I recommend this specialist very highly.

Dr. Grunkemeier did a great job on two procedures for me over the past few years, one being colonoscopy. He was very attentive, listened and showed great care for me during my consult and prior to and after the procedure. I'd highly recommend him to anyone new to The Oregon Clinic.

Dr.Grunkemeier saved my life. He was the Dr. that realized how serious my health was in after transfering from a prior Dr. and had 3 MRI's completed. He is the Dr. that instructed me to have surgery immediately. He was the one that relieved my umbearable pain for the duration of 6 Months. He came to my rescue and for that my Family and myself will always hold him dear to my heart. This is the best Gastrointerologist on the planet and if you are looking for someone that is good, cares about you and gives you the proper diagnosis then this is the Dr. to seek out. Dr.Grunkemeier is awesome and I am very greatly for him.
