Dr. David Bruce Hammer, DO

Dr. Hammer preformed a pain block on my arm, however he did not take the time to be sure it worked before putting me under anesthesia. Therefore when I woke from surgery, I was in incredible pain. He also did not install my pain relief pump correctly. It was not working because He left the clamp on it when it should have been remove, which both the head nurse and surgeon informed me.

Gave me a nerve block for foot surgery. Was way too "jokey" for me to feel that he was really going to pay close attention to his work. I was tense & anxious getting a block. He seemed to joke with the nurse while placing it as my foot twitched back and forth saying "thats not the right one, lets try another". Not exactly reassuring when the doc can't find the right nerve. Will refuse him as an anesthesiologist in the future.

I mirror the other review in that the billing dept only accepts cash or a mailed in check. They do not accept payment over the phone and do not use credit/debit cards. The Dr. himself was nice and did a great job for my surgery. 5 stars for the Doc, 1 star for billing.

Awful

As far as the Dr. himself goes - he put me to sleep for a knee procedure and I woke up ok so I guess he's a good Dr. BUT his office staff is the worst I've ever encountered! Do not use this Dr. because the nighmare is just beginning once you wake up! The office bills you then gives you false and bad information over the phone then when you try to pay they tell you the don't take any credit cards... or Debit cards... or your employer flex debit card! This is 2011, not 1970 and any business that cares about their customers takes credit and/or debit cards. They don't care as was exibited by their office mis-manager, Eric. He was the rudest, most snobbish person I have ever spoked to over the phone. You do have a choice when selecting a Dr. so no matter what, don't pick Dr. Hammer.
