Dr. David J Hanson, MD

I have received only the best professional and compassionate care form Dr. Hanson and his staff, over the many years I have received care I feel fortunate I was able to be cared for by Dr. Hanson. My quality of life has so improved. I had seen other professionals without any improvement. I am very greatful and thankful for Dr. Hanson and his staff.

I know a few people that have been dropped from his practice. No warning and no valid reason. Nice person but made it clear he would be ending his contracts with patients because he’s scared of the dea. People are getting dropped left and right from all over the area out of fear. There will soon be many suicides in the fm area or they will turn to street drugs because the pain becomes too much to bare. It’s a lose lose for chronic pain sufferers. As long as a person is following their contract then why drop them!?

For almost 3 yrs. Dr. H. helped me with care of my severe pain conditions. I signed a pain contract and I know conditions are very strict. If another dr. Prescribed a pain med we are to report it to Dr. H. I had surgery on my foot that was rather extensive and my surgeon knew I was having alot of pain. So for 3rd week, he prescribed a pain med. Now Dr. H.is 1 1/2 hrs.away. Was on way back to home from Fargo and my drug store alerted Dr. H. of this new pain med order. My surgeon had faxed script to my drug store in my home town. I never asked drug store to fill this order because I knew I needed to report it to Dr. H. So I figured I would call his office when I got home. Which I did, but drug store jumped the gun and alerted him before I even got home. I did have my usual meds filled just couple days before I seen my surgeon. And....I knew I couldn't take them with the new pain med order. But....Dr.H. had told my drug store "absolutely not", without speaking with me about any of this. I… called and reported new med order.I feel Dr H. was not very professional at all! He never talked to me at all. But his nurse/secretary forwarded message. She asked if I just wanted them to send weaning scripts to drug store instead of driving all that way. WEANING SCRIPTS!! WOW. I was floored. I really couldn't believe what just happened. Dr. H. Could have let me have new pain med as my usual pain meds did not help my foot pain. I used to be a nurse before I became disabled. He could have asked to holdy meds as I know they don't just let you keep your meds as they do not trust anybody. Also, there are pain meds for different types of pain. Not all will help a surgical pain, etc..... So I rate him a 3 only. He's an anesthesiology. I guess he doesn't know everything about pain meds. And how does he know if I have more pain. He doesnt...All drs. are so afraid they'll get into trouble by the government. I just read an article, that these drs. Have carried opoid meds. abit far..

He help resolve my pain with a injection in my hip. This helped resolve the pain without medication. I could walk, sleep and bend normally again. Kind staff and clean office.
