Dr. David Joel Harrell, MD

I have known Dr. David Harrell for many years, both professionally and personally. As a now retired Family Physician I had the privilege of refering the majority of my surgical patients to him and decided long ago that he would be "my" surgeon at retirement. He is a compassionate man, very knowledgeable, pragmatic and gifted as a surgeon, loves the Lord, is available and has a splendid staff. He was able to recently remove my gallbladder and repair an abdominal hernia in a timely manner for which I am grateful. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Dr. Harrell. Steven Masters, MD

I saw Dr. Harrell after searching for years for someone to listen and find the same diagnosis my labs repeatedly indicate I have. I’ve been denied surgery for by other physicians who choose to follow it as the hyperparathyroidism destroys my body, has drained my savings, home equity, destroys relationships,time, takes my career and has left me in financial ruin permently. I am hoping and praying Dr. Harrell is a man of God who has a heart who can see the 15 years of pain and misdiagnosis I’ve been through as well as the damage done by big PHARMA by meds given for those missed diagnosis and what I’ve lost because of it. He listened to me last week and was patient and kind. Office was kind and sweet and forgiving of my lateness and my wait was absolutely nothing..GREAT OFFICE AND GRACIOUS KIND DOCTOR. GREAT BEDSIDE MANNER. Next week I will see if he truly listened and realizes the destruction done to my body and the years of life I’ve lost due to this disease. However...so far so Good.

I guess there have to be bad doctors so the good doctors have somebody to be compared to. He was indifferent, if not outright mocking of my pain and my desire to figure out what was wrong. Condescending attitude with a smidgen of contempt for dealing with the unwashed masses. In a fair and just world this clown would contract bone cancer and have to endure a mediocre and mocking doctor. There are two times more people in his office working on billing than people on the medical staff. That's a bad sign right there.

He brought me through an injury very few survive from. He is very clinical that is true, but he does know what he's doing and if your life is on the line he is the one to go to.

Dr. David Harrell is an exceptional doctor. His bed side manner is superb. He takes his time with his patients and always explain the procedures. If a problem arrives, he returns calls very promptly. He is the most professional and tentative surgeon I have ever had.

He is a great doctor. He really cares for his patients. One thing is that I hope he has learned to keep his religious values separate from his practice. If I need to hear scripture, i will go to a church.

Dr. Herrell is awesome. Very knowledgable , very good surgeon, awesome bedside manner, very nice person, made me feel at ease and answered any questions I had. Took away any worries I had about surgery.
