gratitude to Dr. Hergan. For years (5 years to be exact), I finally found a doctor who took the time to acknowledge and take the time to understand my depth of pain. My other doctors kept recommending physical therapy or pain management...despite the fact I could barely walk. My friend recommended I get a second opinion after I had seen an orthopedic surgeon tell me pain management was all I needed. I was literally so depressed and pretty much felt this was going to be my life ... living in pain and nothing could be done and having sleepless nights. Dr Hergan obtained x-rays (as had my previous doctors), and sat down with me on consultation and asked "How are you able to walk?" as he showed me the x-rays and explained the severe bone loss as well as broken/chipped bone. I cried tears of happiness that he believed me and he was so sincere in saying that I must be in a lot of pain. He said, "you will be feeling better soon". He is a genuine healer and yes I definitely feel better. He has… given me new found abilities and I can sleep at night peacefully. I still need my other hip replaced and am very confident in him and the entire orthopedics staff. They all guided me on expectations and were very thorough, kind and I love them all.

Dr. Hergan is an amazing surgeon. He’s has the best bedside manor. Dr. Hergan is kind, caring and compassionate. He is always just a phone call away and I feel that he provides the highest level of care. His staff is always courteous and professional and makes me feel welcomed and cared for.

Thru out my 60 years of life, I have had a few surgeries, broken this, appendix removal, diverticulitis Most all of the procedures were prior to 2006. However I was fortunate to experience a total hip replacement thru the team at Middlesex Ortho under the guiding hand of Dr. David Hergan, (playing Lead Scalpel) as well as the rhythm player, P.A. Sir Tom Gorski. Combined with the backing vocals of their wonderful team known as, "The Hipsters". This "tour de force" operate as such a tight crew, starting with introductions, smiles, good sturdy grips, detailed descriptions of the procedure, then the lights go out and then and then the wonderful encore of recovery, P.T. meds, meals, and the best sounding bed care manor ever experienced.. No infections, No temps, plenty of help from the CNA's and PT and OT.. This show was well worth the price of admission. Irrelevant of your insurance carrier, we were in "Good hands".... Blue chip material, and I would recommend this team… at Middlesex to any and all who are considering any and all types of surgeries.. Why go into Hartford? Middletown is central and easily assessable to RT 91 and RT 72.. This is the future of surgery in the up coming years, Best show around, highly recommended and well tuned.

Four years ago, Dr. Hergan mended a multiple complex fracture in my left shoulder. I was really quite impressed with his skill, and also the team there in Middlesex hospital. Added to that, there is a visible element of keen satisfaction in his work – he loves what he does, and all this conveys a high level of professionalism.

My experience with Dr. Hergan has been great. He takes his time, listens to his patients, and puts you totally at ease. It's very obvious he loves what he does and is quite skilled at it. He replaced my left hip due to osteoarthritis, and every step since has been a positive. He is a great doc and a fine man!

I have been seeing Dr.Hergan for at least 4 yrs and I do admit the first few years were awesome we have been through many surgeries and infections and I felt safe and cared for by him but the bigger he gets it seems like he just doesn't care and it's very hurtful I thought he actually cared but my internist said to be you actually think he cares what happens to you and I told her I thought he did so anyway I'm having a major issue and he wants itching to do with it.

He Was a great doctor when I saw him on many occasions and even did surgery on my rotator cuff with great success. However, that was several years ago. Try and get an appointment with him now if your insurance has changed. My opinion of him has changed greatly since he ditches his former patients if you do not have the right insurance. Huh...

His concern to make sure the patient is the most comfortable after surgery was so appreciated. He and his team worked in an excellent way to make my rotate-tor cuff surgery have the best results for a full recovery.
