I've had thyroid trouble my whole life. Dr Hester gave me the correct dosage of medication. I've lost 100 lbs.

I see Dr. Hester, have for years. He brought through two healthy pregnancies despite being extremely insulin resistant. I love this guy!!

I have found DR H. helpful and attentive, but I can only communicate with him during my annual visit.. At no other time will the high and mighty PA allow any communication btwn Dr and Patient. AND she does not relay messages, or listen... I have absolutely NOTHING good to say about the PA, but good things to say about the DR.

I found Dr Hester very nice and professional but also much to conservative with diagnostic testing and possibilities. Seems like very much by the numbers (for lab results) kind of practice where these results seem to trump symptoms. He also provides very little feedback. I found the PA that I did follow-ups with to be totally arrogant and inadequate. Since she is part of his "team" she also gets included in the review. With symptoms that were never resolved her advice was to look elsewhere but provided no referral. In between the long periods of several months between appointments and deciding that I had suffered enough without adequate diagnosis and treatment, I looked elsewhere and am glad I did.

17 years he has been excellent and most professional. Has kept me controllable.

I saw Dr. Hester for a year, and he diagnosed me with Hashimoto's and prescribed Synthroid. I had bad side effects from the high dosage of synthroid, but he was happy with the lab numbers - so I was told to choose . . . live with the side effects (having to wear diapers) of the synthroid, or live with the disease. I've chosen to live with the disease . . . and look for another endocrinologist.

After suffering through inadequate treatment for my hypothyroidism I was finally referred to Dr. Hester. He listened carefully to my symptoms, tested not only my TSH & Free T4, but my Free T3 as well. FT3 was still too low despite adequate dosage of levothyroxine. Dr. Hester took me off generic levothyroxine, put me on Synthroid & added Cytomel-T3 (which my GP REFUSED to prescribe, despite my asking several times) to my treatment. I feel like I'm getting my life back!! I'm feeling much more balanced, more energetic and I'm no longer experiencing brain fog & depression! I'm so grateful to have found a doc who listens and truly wants to help his patients feel better.
