Dr. David A Horowitz, MD

We saw Dr. Horowitz on the fly because our usual pediatrician wasn’t available. He took what could have simply been the opportunity to educate a first time parent and turned it into an way to make sure I knew I was stupid. Thanks for that....we left with an antibiotic prescription for an ear infection so I guess I wasn’t that far off base for bringing her in. I would certainly hope a doctor knew more about how to do their job than me. I felt disrespected when he chose to show that by being condescending. We will do our best to avoid him in the future.

I have been bringing my son to Dr. Horowitz for 14 years (since he was born), and have been satisfied up until the past couple years. I feel that his bedside manner has become increasing more condescending and at times downright snide. I did not appreciate his attitude when he discussed my son’s nonexistent weight problem in front of him. Had it been without the sneers and condesceding tone and done in an educational manner, it would have been an appropriate discussion to have with my son rather than about him. On the positive side, I do appreciate that he is thorough, knowledgeable and experienced. Front desk staff at check in were pleasant and efficient and the nurse was phenomenal. The person at check out was extremely rude on the other hand, and acted like she didn’t know what I was doing there. When I explained that I needed a follow up and referral she just pointed to an office and told me I would have to talk to Kathy. After repeating that I have to schedule a follow up she did… so and was rude and again seemed put out. When I went to Kathy’s office she seemed surprised that I had approached her door. I don’t know if I was supposed to have been called to her office or what, but I had been given no instructions so I walked over to the door to which I was directed.

Dr. Horowitz is a uniquely gifted professional. He is the best pediatric diagnostician around. I have worked as a psychologist for over 35 years, almost 30 of them in Wake County, NC. The excellence of this pediatric medical community is commendable. His professionalism, dedication, vision and caring are first rate and stand out. We have worked together over almost 33 years, and I have first hand knowledge of his excellent patient care through working together with children, teens and families.

Seems to sort out complicated issues. Like having my own little medical center.
