I have put off hip replacement surgery for at least 5 years because of dread. I moved to WS in 2021 and so many people told me about Dr. Howe and their successful recovery that I made an appointment. He explained the process so thoroughly, talked me through the xrays and gave me the confidence I needed. I had surgery on June 9, 2023. 3 weeks later I was walking with a cane. 6 weeks later I really don't even use the cane. He sent me text messages every day with new exercises to try, encouraging words, an open line of communication and even sent Physical Therapy to my house for 3 weeks. I cannot recommend Dr. Howe highly enough!! I am 76 years old and for the first time in many years, I walk without a limp and I am pain free!! Thank you, Dr. Howe and your wonderful staff!!

Replaced my hip. On my feet the same day. Quick recovery. Direct anterior approach, I think it is called. Lots less post-op restrictions than I expected (even for anterior). Ask him about his technique. I think you'll be impressed.

Dr. Howe gave me my life back. I was extremely handicapped and in severe pain prior to my total hip replacement and now just 8 weeks post surgery I am walking, climbing stairs, driving and sleeping all pain free! I still have a tiny bit of pain rising from a chair, but in five steps it’s gone. Texting from Dr. Howe post surgery was comforting and helpful, portal questions promptly answered, and Kimmel Park Outpatient Surgery Center was all good with kind and caring staff. The worst experience about my surgery was the allergic reaction I had to the surgical disinfectant that they applied to my body, if you have sensitive skin be sure to ask about an alternative. Also celebrex medication was very drying to my mouth and throat. The hip pain post surgery was so small compared to those reactions. Due to my vertigo, I opted to use Tylenol (ES) and ice from day one and it managed the incision pain without the side effects of the stronger drugs. I highly recommend Dr. Howe and his team for… robotic total hip replacement.

I’m almost to the six week post op point, and loving my results after my total hip replacement surgery. Before my surgery, I was in almost unbearable pain. The afternoon after my surgery, I walked into my house virtually pain free with the aid of only a walker. I highly recommend Dr.Howe, his entire staff, and everything about their Kimel Park Surgery Center. And I don’t want to forget his PT staff. I feel like Dr.Howe’s daily text messages kept me informed of what I needed to be doing to keep my recuperating on track. Keep up the excellent service you provide!

Dr. Howe and his staff were fantastic! Dr Howe did a great job fixing my knee! I didn’t have any problems after surgery (except a little pain the first week) Everything went great! I can’t thank him enough for taking care of my knee!

If there’s a better orthopedic surgeon around, I don’t know where you would find it. I have been a patient at OrthoCarolina for several years now. My right hip had degenerated due to arthritis so badly I could hardly walk. The day of my surgery at their Kimel Park Surgery Center, I needed assistance getting into the building. That same afternoon, I got into our vehicle to go home, without having to lift my leg with a strap in order to get in. Got home and walked into my house (with a walker) virtually pain free. I could not believe the difference that Dr. Howe made in my life. His daily text messages really helped keep me on track in my recovery. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Howe and his entire team. They certainly set the bar as high as it can go! Thank you Dr. Howe and team!
