Dr. David Hoyle is committed to diagnostic and treatment excellence. We check for tissue health and disease, for cavities and gum problems, for malocclusion; and we have digital tools that allow us to diagnose problems early on and provide outstanding treatment options. The laser caries detector can measure the depth of a beginning cavity and help us decide on whether a filling is needed! Our digital X-rays provide detailed images at only 1/10th of previous standard radiation to our patients. Our intra-oral digital camera helps us magnify hard-to-see areas, so we can better understand any treatment needs.  Our Waterlase laser allows many cavity-removing procedures and some gum treatment to be done without use of anesthetic. The office takes special care to follow and exceed guidelines of cleanliness, disinfection, and sterilization. Dr. Hoyle earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Math and Chemistry from the University of North Carolina in 1976. He successfully completed his dental and medical degrees at UNC as well, in 1980 and 1989 respectively.  He, as a Chapel Hill laser dentist,  has been trained  as a certified  Waterlase dentist since 2003.
Dr. Hoyle and his wife are proud parents of four children. They have all attended undergraduate studies at UNC. He has one son who works with Virginia's Commission on Aging in Richmond after graduating from UNC School of Medicine; another son graduated UNC and works at Duke while in a Masters program at NCSU; the third son is in the home stretch at UNC School of Dentistry; while his daughter is in dental hygiene school UNC after transferring from Minorities University in Beijing.
Dr. Hoyle enjoys spending time with his family and completing dental continuing education in his spare time.  He desires to help you achieve your goals of great health!
