Dr. David Michael Huffman, MD

I would like to thank Dr. Huffman for taking time to assist me in getting my Diabetes and Thyroid in order. He listen to all of the issues I was having. His staff is very caring and professional. I had no problem in getting an appointment and the wait was less than 30 minutes.

Do not go to this office if you have a pituitary disorder that is difficult to treat & need to be out of work for a while, They are nice for a while but when it comes to longstanding problems with the disease he will turn his back on you,

It took several months to get an appointment with Dr. Huffman only to be asked questions about how I had been feeling with my current medication. I advised him that I felt great , although I was gaining weight. Blood was drawn and a follow up scheduled . After waiting over an hour and a half I advised the receptionist to cancel my appointment and I would not reschedule . This is very poor practice. I will not be back .

Wait time is typical and horrible.Staff are bitter.

Excellent in all regards. Highly professional and talented, Dr. Huffman made a diagnosis that for years others had missed. Took the time on each visit to probe, investigate and analyze feedback/data until he was satisfied with diagnosis and treatment. He is however, very busy and I have no idea how he is able to provide such a flexible appointment schedule and short wait times. If there was any room for improvement, it would only be that he speak louder. I miss a few words but I believe I get the big picture.

Will not accept new patient that is "medicare" eligible...even if you are still working

I am so happy to have found Dr. Huffman! After years of being sick and being misdiagnosed. He took his time with me and ran all the right tests and after 7 years of tests from the wrong drs, I finally got the right diagnosis...Hoshimoto's and celiac disease. Incredible Dr. and great bedside manner. Treats you like a person not a number!

Dr. Huffman was recommended by a co-worker. I had to wait a year until he was accepting new patients, but it was worth the wait! He asked me if I ever considered a pump, and I told him that I had contacted my insurance company previously but my co-pay was almost $2000. He then asked me if I wanted to be in a study of a new insulin pen, all my supplies and visits would be paid for by Novo Nordisk, and I'd get paid every time I came in for an office visit! Of course I accepted. I am now in a study funded by Eli Lilly. They don't pay as much as Novo, but all my supplies are at no cost. Since Ive received the new study insulin, I have reduced my pre-meal dosages from the high teens to only 2-3 units. I would highly recoomend Dr. Huffman to anyone! BTW, he has moved his practice from McCallie Ave. to the Lenscrafter building at Eastgate on Brainerd Rd., so the parking situation is way better.
