Dr. David Ryan Hulbert, MD

I have type 1 diabetes (47 years duration), hypothyroidism, vitamin D deficiency, cervical myelopathy, pancreatic insufficiency, gastroparesis and I I went to him concerned about my risk of developing pancreatic cancer because my mother and grandfather both died from it. For years I brought this concern to my other primary care physicians who either dismissed my concerns because, "It's rare in women" or told me there was "No way to screen for it". Dr Hulbert listened and agreed it was something to be concerned about. He referred me to St Luke's center for Pancreatic Disease. They checked my blood for cancer markers and did an MRI and I'm scheduled for genetic testing and counseling. This has taken a huge load off my mind! Dr Hulbert is VERY easy to talk to. He doesn't have that "I'm the doctor and you're not" attitude. Because of my long list of medical problems I'd been only seeing internal medicine specialists. Due to my internal medicine doctor quitting clinical practice, I… chose Dr Hulbert, because his bio said that he likes complex medical conditions.

Dr. Hulbert is excellent at listening to each of our concerns. Excellent with our children. We will never switch.

Bright, compassionate and efficient. Among the best physicians I have ever had.

Doesn't seem to have answers nor interest in questions.

My mom said her thyroid meds are too high. Hulbert denied and denied it. One E.R. visit later we find out her thyroid levels are too high. Go figure. Look up what the thyroid does and tell me if you could handle yours not functioning properly.
