Dr. Ivey graduated from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Upon graduation, he entered the Medical University of South Carolina's College of Dental Medicine, Class of 1972, and completed his periodontics residency at the Medical College of Virginia in 1978. He spent two years on active duty in the U.S. Army after graduating from MUSC, as well as an additional eleven years in the U.S. Army Reserves.
An Associate Professor at MUSC's College of Dental Medicine since 1978, Dr. Ivey has recently received an Employee Service Award for over 30 years at MUSC, and can be found in their dental clinic on Thursdays.
Dr. Ivey resides in Mount Pleasant with his wife, Audrey, and is the proud daddy of three young ladies, Megan, Madeline, and Morgan.
